Post it note going 12 years strong
Random 3M fact. The original command strip is still in use today. The Sheetrock has been cut from the wall and framed but the strips are still holding strong.

my mom has used this same lint roller since the 70s.
I just bought mine at target or another superstore. another commenter mentioned OXO, I think mine is 3M!

Looking for adhesive non-slip treads for the shower
3M is definitely the way to go but just heads up - even their good stuff can start peeling at the edges after like a year or two if you don't get the prep perfect. I learned this the hard way lol. The rubbing alcohol thing is legit, don't skip it

Looking for adhesive non-slip treads for the shower
3M makes these. Sold all over. When it comes to things that stick, 3M is always the answer. I believe they have precut lengths or cut to length as well. Make sure to prep your shower beforehand (w/ rubbing alcohol)

What are the Best Earbuds for Sleeping Now?
I would not recommend any sort of electronic earbuds. Try 3M earplugs. They aren’t BIFL (and neither are earbuds, of course), they are disposable and work extremely well.

Knife set for Christmas
How does he sharpen his knives? That's important to know, as a fancy knife with shitty sharpening isn't worth it. Most Western knives are 20 degree blades, and most Japanese and some others are 15. I believe the Wustoff Classic Chef's knife is 14 degrees. Also, it's really important to know if he wants a 10 or 8 inch chef's knife (or other size). I second the comments saying to buy 1 really good chef's knife, and a Victorinox Fibrox bread knife and paring knife. And, find a place for a magnetic strip; 3M VHB Double-sided tape would hold it up on your quartzite back splash, since I'm sure you don't want to drill (and you can remove it cleanly when wanted).

What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy but now you swear by it?
two things for MUCH improved sleep: a bite guard (the $300 one from your dentist) and a roll of 3m surgical tape for mouth taping. the tape will last a year (but you’ll want to keep buying it for life lol). the products “designed” for mouth taping are just marketing. the bite guard will last for a decades if you take good care of it.

In ear headphones. Plz help. Tired of replacing constantly.
Honestly just get 3M WorkTunes. You probably need ear protection anyway.

The Best Air Purifier on the Market Now?
Not my real world experience. You can read numbers all day but in real life my box fan on low with a 3M 2550 16x20 filter keeps my room air quality far better than any True HEPA filter. I think the numbers lie & the manufacturers lie. I have a chronic illness & I know which delivers highest air quality.

Foam or corded ear plugs from U.S. Standard Products - what works best?
3M/Peltor is the gold standard of earpro. Foam, in ear, over ear, doesn’t matter. Yes I know the recently recent combat arms lawsuit but that was technically inherited from Aearo Technologies/E.A.R. before 3M even acquired them.

the best noise reduction earplugs for sleeping?
There are some by 3M called "Push Ins," they are blue and yellow. I love them so much. I have tiny ears so the big foam ones just fall out, these ones fit so nice and dont give me that "full" feeling in my ears like the foam do.

What’s one item you bought that way outperformed its price?
3m Bluetooth noise cancelling worksite headphones. I got mine from a low end Facebook auction for $7 and I use them at least 5x a week. Battery lasts for days without a recharge. Worth it at full price, an absolute steal for $7.

Buy it for life sunglasses?
3M also makes some safety glasses with tinted lens (sunglasses) that last forever. I bought my first pair in 2012 and only replaced them because I managed to scratch the coating too badly to use. I got another pair and am still using them today. They aren't stylish by any means but they last.

Semi-DIY BIFL Mop <$50 - My Take
Seems like a good cheap diy with some staying power. If you are looking to buy the equivalent I highly recommend 3M HYGEN system. About 3-4x the price but will last forever.

Best "hair remover" for clothes and fabric that works for life?
I’ve had [this one](https://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Brite-836S-B2-Lint-Brush/dp/B002UC7X60) from 3M for years and it’s been great. Just make sure you follow the direction of the arrow. No refills needed.

BIFL - a mouse! What's a high quality mouse I can buy?
I use an ergonomic one made by 3M. You hold it like a flight stick almost but it's just hand sized with clicks on your thumb and middle fingers. Been using it for like ten years of office work.

Need Long Lasting Cable Management Somution
Just go to amazon and type in "cable management" any of the plastic clip things that have 3m adhesive will last. I did datacenters for years and we used just bulk, 3m adhesive plastic stuff for places like this and never had one fail (so long as we cleaned any dusty or dirty surfaces of course). Run several across where you want the cables, and it's also easy to pull stuff out temporarily or replace stuff, whereas staples aren't.

Need Long Lasting Cable Management Somution
I will say there’s a big difference between the name-brand cable tie anchors (3M) vs. any others. They’re a bit more expensive, but I have real and generic ones on my guitar pedalboard, and they’re night and day. Regardless, clean the are you’re gonna stick em to with some alcohol first. Also all of them should have a hole for a wood screw; you could get some short enough to not pop through your desk if you want it more mechanically secure.

Need Long Lasting Cable Management Somution
I use stick-on cable managers similar to [this](https://www.fivebelow.com/products/stick-on-cable-dots-9-count-9121364?variant=9121365?), but with real 3M adhesive. I can route individual cables and hide them easily.

Noise cancelling headphones (cancels without music)
I tried a lot of different things while studying for the bar. I found that the straight up 3M yellow foam ear plugs are the most effective, and the most affordable too lol

Noise cancelling headphones (cancels without music)
I've had loops. they're kind of shit tbh. what works much better for me is 3m yellow neons disposable earplugs. you can get a box of 200 pairs for about $20-30 and even handing them out by the fistful at bars and concerts the box has lasted me about four years. unfortunately you can only get them by the case on the 3m website, but a small amount of digging will get you a single box. you want the solid yellow ones, not the ones with colors in the foam

How do I repair this part of the shoe? I know I could buy a new pair but why when the rest of the shoe is in great condition?
Had a similar problem, and 3M masking tape was very, very effective, and surprisingly durable. Just make sure the patch of tape extends beyond the high contact area. The roll of tape cost a bit - not too much - but it has hundreds of uses.

Best solutions to block UV rays and heat from windows
Window film is your best option. 3M has a lifetime warranty on all their products. There is probably a 3M Dealer near you, give them a call

Best solutions to block UV rays and heat from windows
Solar control films, preferably exterior installation and from a reputable brand like 3M (Also be careful with multi pane windows, some films may not work). They do last only some decades before deterioration is noticeable (from good brands), so it's not really bifl.

Scrub brush for dishes
I’ve had 4 specific scouring implements for going on 40 years. Some of my favorite kitchen tools. 1. Cellulose sponges. The kind that come compressed. Cheap and perfect for dishes. 2. Stainless scrubber ball things. Ditto cheap etc. 3. 3m BLUE pads. Tougher than the green. 4. Commercial long handled pot scrubber. Looks like a toilet brush but a lot stiffer. Lasts for years. The sponge, SS, and 3m last a month or whenever they get tired.

What brands do you trust to always deliver a high quality product?
I use a lot of 3M in my dental office. They make top of the line filling material and the stuff we use to bkbd the filling to the tooth. There are other players in the field, but I like 3M stuff the best.

What brands do you trust to always deliver a high quality product?
3M is a sleeper. They're behind so many raw materials for production, which is heavily commoditized. When you're the one making or designing something, you can't go wrong with using the 3M version of that product.

Best noise canceling headphones?
for home use? I bought the bose nc700, which i regret. it was a pita, requires a poor functioning app to use, and is a lousy bluetooth headset. sony xm series, what i origionally wanted but the store was out of stock of in my rural, slow to replenish neck of the woods has been superior in every regard. after being unavailable for months, my local store got some back in stock as soon as the return policy on my nc700s expired. These are excellent headphones! for work and actual hearing protection, I would recomend a set of Honeywell Howard Leight earmuffs or a set of 3m worktunes with the gel. in every scenario amazon is known to sell counterfeits, so ymmv

Which tool brand ecosystem would you invest in for 2025 and why for the occasionally frugal DIYer?
For me the only issue that I have had is the size of the impact driver and cordless ratchet. Don’t get me wrong both my Ryobi impacts and my cordless ratchet work great, but if space is an issue I have to grab my work bag with my M12 series. Actually now that I think of it my only M12 stuff I have is the ratchets, tiny impact driver, and heated vest (which is amazing). I use Ryobi for most everything else that’s not plugged in. The nice thing about Ryobi is their huge catalog with each tool having multiple levels. But the thing I will stress is to use the right tool for the job. A hammer drill for instance has multiple different types that are different internally to do different things. Also good accessories really help any tools. My 30 year old Craftsman table saw has Forrest blades and it cuts like a dream, and my Ryobi sanders use 3M Cubitron sandpaper. Good accessories will help with any tool perform to the best they can. As for your specific tools you are looking at, I own everything but their pressure washer. That I have a Powerhorse from Northern Tool, so I can’t give you any advice on that. But the other stuff I own and use and are more than happy with. My caveat with the shop vac is don’t expect the Ryobi or any battery powered one to compete with a good plug in model (which if you need one Ridgid and Craftsman make top notch wet/dry vacs). If you have anymore questions let me know.
