Hot Take: Gooseneck kettles are TOOLS, not collector pieces — reliability matters more than aesthetics.
I bought an Aarke kettle, thermostat broke within 6 months. They did replace it free of charge tbf. But my previous £10 kettle lasted 8 years with significant abuse and even a stint living in the garden. It can be as shiny as you like but fundamentally the systems within need to be robust not just materials and aesthetics.

What is the Best Coffee Makers on the Market?
Look this might be controversial but I have over 30 coffee makers , all but 1 or 2 of all of the SCAA makers on the market and the MM only makes my top 10 AFTER the shower head mod. My Aarke, Ratio 8 Zojirushie(Best thermal carafe on the market)Wilfa,Kitchen Aid Proline all surpass the MM IMHO. The MM will without a doubt last longer than most due to the copper boiler but I dont care about that when Im making my brew. A Bonavita will serve most peoples needs without the hefty price tag although I will take an older one over the newer ones due to cheaper components in the newer ones. The Breville is good and the option for cone or basket brews is a nice feature.. Best looking the Aarke wins hands down according to my guests but thats not something most care about..Again if you go with the MM get the shower head mod from Coffee Pilot in Canada for $30 plus shipping. Just my opinion everyone has their own opinion on these otherwise the market couldn't sustain so many high end makers. Happy Brewing!!

Recommendations for an electric tea kettle that is plastic free
From what I can tell the Swedish designed Aarke Kettles are plastic free. Expensive but looks stunning. Stainless steel look, its double walled construction and steel non-drip spout

Water filter suggestions?
I'm not sure what you're asking. I'm not making any claims about the Berkey except that I've had it for 7 years and it's working fine for me. The Aarke works fine too.

Water filter suggestions?
I’m happy with my Berkey. Bought it about 7 years ago. And I have an Aarke seltzer maker. Not cheap, but it’s mostly metal with some minimal plastic elements and should last forever. Went through 2 Soda Stream units before I invested in the Aarke. You didn’t ask for that info, but just in case you drink a lot of seltzer like me.

No plastic kettles warning — Aarke
Thank you for letting us know, that's so sneaky of them as everything I've read just says stainless steel! Was about to fork out 400+ to have it shipped to Australia! Will most likely be going for a stovetop kettle as they seem to be the only ones actually plastic free. The other option is a ceramic electric kettle but I'm not sure what kind of glaze they use as the descriptions are vague so not 100% sure if they're tox free.

BIFL-ish: What is the most durable SodaStream option?
Aarke. Also one of the most sustainable CO2 options. Also not Israeli 😉

BIFL-ish: What is the most durable SodaStream option?
I've got an Aarke Carbonator 3, which is almost entirely steel and uses standard CO2 cylinders.
