  What is the equivalent of "Apple removed 3.5mm jack" of your favorite products ?

  This is pretty much the reason I do not own a Lexus. In 2019 I test drove an IS350, and I liked the car. However, as I was driving my hand accidentally hit the infotainment controller shitty thing that it was and the radio started blaring static. Driving down a 2 lane road I couldn’t figure out how to change the radio back, but I was able to turn it off. That made me nope out real quick. Same goes for Acura, the infotainment controller is hot trash. Although, in the ADX and Integra they moved away from it.

  Best alternative to WeatherTech that can be completely cleaned and don’t have texture that traps dirt?

  I always go with the OEM all weather mats. Why not just get the ones from Acura parts?

  What's one item you've owned for years that's still going strong-and was totally worth the money?

  Why wouldn’t you keep it if the accident was minor? I had the same thing happen recently with my 13 yo Acura, but it still drives just fine and all I have are a couple of dented doors. I just took the payout and kept the car.

  BIFLers, what things do you not understand why people spend their money on?

  I unintentionally did this with an Acura MDX. I bought it used and ended up having to sell it. Got more than I paid for it. It had 75k miles when I bought it and just under 200k miles when I sold it.

  I think it is still the case. I have literally never owned a new car, bought 10-15 yr old ones with 125k miles. Get a Toyota or Honda or Acura or a Mazda. Something with a reliable engine. I mean I have bought a truck for $1500 bucks and 200k miles that went another 80k miles with only another $1500 put into it. That's a 03 f150. You will always have to do maintenance. It's worth it to buy a Prius that's even got a dead hybrid battery and paying 2k to replace because it's cheaper than a 30k Prius. Depreciation is so high on a new car purchase that you might as well buy two used cars and just assume one will die.

  In an age of things designed to be replaced, what currently-produced 1) trucks, and 2) cars come closest to BIFL?

  Honestly anything from Toyota/Lexus or Honda/Acura will be the best “investment” in a car.
