Is there anything you're convinced is "the cheaper the better"?
Aldi is the answer here. Their version of Reese's Puffs are way better than the name brand, and cheaper than Malt-O-meal to boot.

Is there anything you're convinced is "the cheaper the better"?
Tortilla chips. Seriously. The best are corn, salt, and oil only, now about $2 a bag while name brand Frito Lay stuff are over-salted, over-processed shit for $5 or more. For chips! Ridiculous. Oh, and Aldi’s chips are fantastic at half the price of big store brands.

Something you didn’t expect to be BIFL but outlasted your expectations?
I bought a crappy book bag at Aldi to use as a diaper bag and that bag (and child) is >11 years old and kickin' it.

What alternatives to shoes do you use when stepping outside?
Teva Flops or Aldi Crocs. I also have some LL Bean moose hide slippers but those are almost exclusively for indoor use. I've only ever stepped outside with them accidentally.

Tights that last that you've bought within the past year or two?
I think I purchased Snag wool tights about 3 years ago. So warm and comfy. I can't speak for the regular ones but the wool ones have been amazing. If you shop at Aldi, keep an eye out for their fleece lined tights. Definitely a quality item!

Gift for man who works nightshift outside
I drink lots of water too. And I like it cold. Aldi has great thermos's for $12 . Personally creature comforts if he is in a truck. 12v cooler/ heater for food and drink.

Desperate for a heated blanket
I got one from Aldi probably 6 months ago and it has been the best heated blanket ever!! It’s a king size, cream color. I bought it on a whim for $49 thinking if it breaks it breaks and it’s been awesome. Use it every day!

What did you buy not realizing you bought it for life?
I have a wicker laundry basket that might be older than me (41). It was mine as a child, I took it to college, and it's still in my bedroom now. Merrell hiking shoes that I got for a trip in 2006. Still comfortable to wear for a light hike. These aren't old, but they're great and will last a long time: Aldi neoprene duffle bags. I have one in each color. They're a knockoff for the Dagne Dover one. High quality, sturdy zippers, holds its shape. My kids and I use them for vacation packing and overnight bags.
