Alicia Adams Alpaca blanket
I stumbled upon a similar throw from this brand a couple years back at Home Sense. Originally priced around $300, it was marked down to $70, and after some aisle research, I decided it was coming home with me. I'm quite picky with throw blankets, finding most too soft, but this one was PERFECT. After some home repairs and procrastination, it ended up collecting dust in a basket in the basement but I knew it was there and would welcome it to live gloriously on the living room couch once repairs were done. Anyway, here I am- on this sub at 5:15am because against my better judgment (and the care instructions), I washed it, and now I find myself searching through various accounts of people trying to revive their ruined blanket. Seems like the verdict is that it will never be the same...but it was rare... i was there. I have no business posting here but saw it was recent and needed to speak my truth. That is all.

Alicia Adams Alpaca blanket
Ok I was given this as a gift and had no idea how expensive it was… However this is my favorite blanket for everything. Bed, couch, office. Anywhere. It’s great all year round and multiple climates (I’m between SoCal and the Northeast, where my parents have one). It’s lightweight and has the perfect breathability. I sound like a 5 year old with their favorite blanket but hey I’ve had this for about 7 years now and it’s in amazing condition

Alicia Adams Alpaca blanket
I got an Alicia Adams blanket from a family friend as a graduation present. I stayed at their house a lot (they lived near my college, I was out of state) and they had one that I slept with every time I was over. I was very thankful for the gift and after about a month or two using it as a throw blanket on my couch, I wanted to get another one for my bed. I was shocked at the price as well- even MORE thankful for their generous gift (I had no idea blankets could cost so much lol). I asked them how long they have had theirs. They’ve had it about 10 years and looks like the one I’ve had for a few months. Dry clean only as needed, treat it well, and it’ll last forever. I haven’t bought a second one yet but plan to once I get some more spending money. They’re incredibly soft and retain heat extremely well. They’re great for a lazy rainy day and a movie on the couch. 10/10 recommend even with the price- I plan on getting at least one more.

Alicia Adams Alpaca blanket
I have two throw blankets from the same brand. Quality is crazy high. I love the blanket and would consider it BIFL. I did get mine on FB marketplace. $500 is a lot for a blanket lol.

Alicia Adams Alpaca blanket
You know, I got this same blanket at a Sierra Trading Post a year or two ago for an after Christmas, final clearance price of $70. At the time I thought I was insane for paying so much for a blanket but yeah… the glorious softness made my eyes roll up in my head and I tossed it in the cart in under 3 seconds. I have no idea how it ended up at Sierra, and after I later looked up the company and retail price I went back to see if there were any more… no dice. I don’t know where you saw this one but it’s worth it to check back and see if the price goes down to your budget. Oh, and your cats will thank you!

Alicia Adams Alpaca blanket
I own two alpaca wraps (large-sized scarves) from Alicia Adams! I bought them directly from the brand’s website nearly a decade ago and I can honestly say they are definitely BIFL quality. They are soft, light (not thin), and warm. I actually like them better than cashmere. I hand wash them once or twice a year and haven’t noticed any issues like pilling. Considering their blankets are sold for like $1500-2900, I’d say $500 is probably a great deal, even better than the prices I saw during the Black Friday sales tbh.
