What’s the cheapest way to get a bidet setup at home that actually lasts?
I buy from the same manufacturer as the current toilet. I had an American Standard toilet, I bought their bidet attachment. The Kohler one got a Kohler bidet attachment. Both fit perfectly and work well. The colors match better too as they are bought from same manufacturers

Bathtub that's BIFL (or at least several decades!)
I’ve honestly been happy with it! My only thing I dislike is the drain cover I chose is annoying but I think that you can choose different drain cover and there’s a possibility mine wasn’t put in correctly. Too tedious to explain, but otherwise I’ve been very satisfied. Definitely get one of those handheld shower things if you can. That’s been amazing for washing the kids!

I replaced all of my toilets with American Standard Cadets 10 years ago and I haven’t had to do anything to them.

I had an American Standard toilet from 1950 in my house until I remodeled it. I still had to maintain the thing. It wasn’t fragile, but the fill valve needed to be cleaned and the flush valve needed new rubber parts every 5 years or so. Water is hard on moving parts.

What’s the best bathroom faucet brand for longevity and cost effectiveness?
(FOR FUTURE PEEPS LIKE ME DOING RELATED STUFF/RESEARCHING/SHOPPING) Yep their supplier, happens in multiple areas of building, construction and their related tools, always has higher quality, what I like toreally think of as "commercial grade". My dad liked buying the plain bare bones model from the supplier, I'm the kind that'd rather buy at min the second best lol, but you get what you pay for. I just rebuilt my American Standard bathroom f aucets. But in all seriousness, buy real ALL NETAL faucets, many quite spendy Home Depot kitchen faucets build their all in one faucet/sprayers out of very rigid plastic with a fake chrome layer that will peel away if it's used daily, also look completely awful when they get dings or deep scratching which invariably always happens being used regularly unless you're the most careful, alow moving person AND only said user.

Meta: Can we stop with the "but its all made in the same factory" BS
The reality— it depends. And it depends within a brand. There are instances where there are essentially no differences — for example Trane model x and American Standard Y. Same company. Different brands. Equal quality. Just labeling. But there are other instances where same factory, different labels, and different quality. There are instances where a model may be made exclusively as a sale item (same label, same look, slightly different model number, but different internal quality). Craftsman sometimes did this.
