  My belt got rubbed off after a short backpacking trip. What belt do you have that lasts?

  I came here to say the same thing. I did just rub through the belt-end holder loop (whatever that's called) so now I have to tuck the tip into my pants belt-loop (which doesn't work with some of my pants that have smaller loops), but the belt itself is still in great shape after more than five years. I've thought about buying a Grip6, but I really appreciate the very slight stretchiness of the Arcade belt (Mine is one of their thicker braided ones).

  I really enjoy my Arcade belt for everyday use and active adventures! Made of recycled materials, just the right amount of stretch, super easy to adjust to the perfect fit, and the plastic buckle is super secure and looks sleek. Plus they come in tons of cool designs. Got mine at REI but they have their own website too

  If you’re backpacking I’m going to assume you’re pretty active. Leather belts are not great for that kind of activity because they rub, chafe, and aren’t flexible. While not truly BIFL, I have really loved my Arcade belts. I just had to replace my first one which was given to me as a gift. I wore it basically every single day for at least 8 years before it finally lost its stretch. I got 2 new ones in patterns I like and I expect they’ll last just as long. They’re very comfortable as well.

  I love me a leather belt, but not for backpacking! Too stiff and hot and sweaty and rubs against the backpack's waistbelt. Nylon is much better for this use case. The simple webbing ones last forever, something with a bit of stretch like the Arcade belts will be the most comfy and still have been very durable for us.

  Looking for a new belt

  Me to. Used leather belt for years until I switch to an Arcade belt about 10 years ago. Since then my leather belts have never left my closet drawer. I now have my original Arcade belt I bought a decade ago, still in perfect condition, that I use for everyday wear, while I have a separate one for when I go out in the bush. Absolutely love them.

  I’ve worn this belt every day since 6th grade. I’m 42 years old. The end is nigh though and the tag with the brand wore off of it so I don’t even know if they still make them. Got it at REI, brand was like the name of a person. Stuart Thomas or something along those lines? 😭😭

  Plastic buckle is convenient for airports.  A friend of mine introduced me to Arcade belts and I wear them everywhere.

  When I purchased the first one, options were limited. They certainly have a very wide variety now and it appears that I ordered one slightly different than the first. Hoping for the same results lol

  Arcade Belt - 10 year replacement

  I can’t remember when I bought mine it’s been so long but I use it as my hiking belt. Close to a few hundred miles and always with a pack on. Very minimal wear very happy with the purchase.
