What are the up-and-coming companies known for quality goods?
I just recently wore my Truwerk EDO pants on a hiking trip and they were perfect. I just have trouble with the prices. I know there's stuff out there even higher, but I hate wearing $100 pants to work and trash them. I've been wearing Ariat Rebar and Duluth Fire hose pants more lately.

Jeans that don't fall apart after a year or two? Been wearing these Wranglers and the quality is cheap sweatshop level. Is there a specific type of denim or another material I should look for if I want something long lasting?
Idk about anyone else here, but let me say, I had bought the 13mwzs for awhile, would always give out after a few months especially in the crotch. I bought 10 of the carpenter riggs jeans from wrangler while they had a sale, that was 5 years ago, I just recently had 2 of them rip on me. so if you're looking for a good pair of work jeans on the cheaper side buy those. recently branched out and bought some cinch and ariat rebars just because i like the fit better as the riggs are advanced comfort and relaxed fit and all that jazz.

buy it for life cowboy boots?
I’m into boots and idk sometimes with work boots you have to make a real evaluation of cost-benefit with respect to daily work boots. My boots are ready for resoling after like 5 years and I go to an office not a job site. You can’t resole a boot infinitely either, and it can cost the same to resole a boot as just buying a new pair of Ariats. It may make more sense to buy two pairs of Ariats and alternate them vs buying something more expensive and paying to resole it

Be mindful of mobility too. If you currently or in the future could need to climb inside vehicles etc, you may want a style on the thinner or lighter side. Red Wing Thorogood and Danner usually get the most praise. I spent a while last year looking for something similar and settled on Keen. I was pretty happy with what I saw from Ariat too. When I worked in a plant where I walked the floor constantly, a few of us settled on a particular style of Rockport at the time as the most comfortable and longest lasting. I put two pairs through hell and still have them 15 years later. That’s not to say they make them like that anymore but don’t be afraid to branch out to different styles than a boot too. Personally for that, I’d look at Merrell, 5.11. Maybe try on some police or military style boots or shoes too. And if you haven’t already, Amazon try before you buy is a huge help.

Best Workwear Brand?
Ariat FR jeans don’t last very long, but then again I use them a lot for work. Their fr work shirts last pretty good however. I get caught on random scaffold nails or insulation banding and it barely even makes a hole. Get a little too close to a cable tray and your jeans will get ripped wide open.

Clothing and footwear brands that hold up over time
I tried levis but they wear so easily, it makes them comfy from the get go but that's not a priority for me as a good pair will wear in. I now buy wrangler Texas jeans and they rock. Really good quality denim. I also bought a heavy canvas jack for a company called "&sons" in the UK and it's an amazing jacket, synonymous with me now. Shirts are mostly thick cotton, I don't really get stuck on brands but if you see a farmer wearing it, it'll probably last. A pure wool jumper is great, if you can withstand the scratchiness until you acclimatise. Boots are the bane of my existence, I spent years wearing German para trooper boots which are amazingly hard-wearing but they are so thick and heavy, they're just not suitable other than hiking these days. My punk angst is no more. I have had success with Ariat though, not as hard wearing but I've had my pair for 4 years now and they still look great. Some tips for looking at outwear, look for double stitching, solid buttons and zip, robust eyelets, no glue anywhere and avoid anything that says breathable, if it a natural fabric it'll be breathable Quality clothes wear in, not out.

Levis haven't been worth it in years. Jeans that last? Cabela's brand redhead jeans. I usually blow the crotch out in my work jeans within a couple months, and I've got 7 pairs of these that I've had for over a year now and not a single tear or hole. And the kicker is.... I will give give Keen hiking boots and closed toes sandals a shout too, as they've lasted me over a decade as well. The leather sandals were given to me second hand. Still going, but the hiking boots aren't as waterproof anymore as the seams are cracking a bit now which for as long and as hard as I've used them around farms, mountains, etc.. they've held up pretty well. Ariats are just more BIFL because they can be resoled.

In a world of mass-produced garbage, AI-generated photos, fake reviews, and an overwhelming amount of choice... where do you go to buy quality versions of mudane items?
Honestly I've gotten lucky with stuff at thrift stores that have items made pre 2010's ~ 2000's! My favorite is this pair of Ariat boots I got for $8 at goodwill. They were a bit scuffed and worn, but I've had them for over 7 years now and they're still my favorite pair! I bought a pair of Ariats new prior to these for $150 and they lasted me about a year before the sole detached from the leather shoe. Even if a brand or place used to produce long lasting goods, sourcing and methods have changed over time and I don't feel like I can trust that the item quality will be the same any more. If you can go to estate sales, I'm sure you'll find some really good stuff that will last you another lifetime as goodwill is now getting flooded with overpriced crap.

Very sad to say Blundstones are no longer BIFL. I had a pair in my youth that lasted me a decade. Now after a few short months the soles of this pair has literally turned to dust!
Can't speak to the quality personally but if you want a similar boot that's more durable check out Redbacks and Ariat. They've offer a 6 month [warranty](https://support.blundstone.com.au/hc/en-us/articles/4402159940505-What-is-Blundstone-s-6-Month-Warranty), even if it's past that it might be worth seeing if you can get a replacement pair.

Replacing my old Fossil Leather front pocket wallet for a cordura-duck Carhartt. What you guys think?
The cordura stitch is used on most of the newer workwear and has proven to hold up quite well. I dont tend to throw my wallets around, so I cant say im worried much on it coming loose. I havent really seen anybody with this type of wallet so its also weird to me to have a 100% cotton wallet opposed to leather lol If i feel weird about it in the next few days, I'll end up returning it and going for an Ariat or something like a handcrafted leather wallet like you mentioned.

Bought a pair of ariat boots. The old poor man’s shoes trope pushed me into it alongside a room mate I had at the time who suggested them because they were the only boots that lasted a welder any good amount of time. I was told they should fit your feet like a firm handshake new and they’re uncomfortable at first but once the leather relaxed they turned into the most comfortable footwear I own. you take care of them they will take care of you. 300$

Male here so not sure it's comparable, but, toughest thickest jeans I have are Ariats bought at Tractor Supply. However, toughest most comfortable pants I have are Filson's. I also just bought some pants from Danner. They are as thick as the Filson's. I'm sure I can get 10 years out of them easy.

[Request] Shoes that last longer than 5 months for people who actually work physical jobs?
I have some Danner hiking boots and they are very comfortable and grip really well in mud and on rocks. I was surprised at the difference from shoes and work boots compared with hiking boots. I also love my Ariat boots for work. They hold up well and are comfortable. I work in the petroleum industry and do hobby woodworking in them.

If all I did was walk around my Ariats would last year's and years and then get resoled. Unfortunately I beat the shit out of them so while they are great and are super comfy they look like hell. Boots are something you can either spend 200$ and get decent boots that last a few years or spend 600$ and have them forever and just keep getting them resoled. And you get to enjoy the aged look as they gain character. Rose anvil is a Great YT channel all about boots and how they are constructed and will give you a much better appreciation and understanding of why good boots cost so much.

What are some good work pants for men?
I stick with Duluth Trading Co. and Truewerk for work pants. They fit well, aren’t too baggy, and actually hold up. If you need something tougher, some of the slimmer-fit Carhartts are solid too. For long-sleeve shirts, I go for moisture-wicking ones like the ones from Ariat or Under Armour... good for layering and they don’t fit like a parachute.
