any gaming headset with low latency actually built to last? tired of plastic junk breaking in months
After running the gambit of everything from various Sennheisers with antlion modmics run thru a stack of Schiit, to Logitech, Steelseries, Astro a50s, etc - the Audeze Maxwell scratched every itch and have been my bulletproof go-tos. 11/10, no notes.

Audeze Maxwells. Reputable audio company, such good battery life from a wireless headset. I got 10s of hours of games and mic usage before needing to charge. Great build quality.

Are Focal Bathys headphones a ‘buy it for life’?
I gather the Utopia has much better build quality than the Clear, which is what I owned. (For $5000 you’d hope so!) My best pair is the Audeze LCD-4. It may not prove to be a BIFL purchase, but it sounds amazing (especially with EQ) and I got it for a good price. The best-built TOTL is probably still the Sennheiser HD800/800S. Meze and ZMF might be more “heirloom-ish,” but I'm not really the target audience for those.

What’s something you’ve bought once and never had to replace?
My audeze LCD2 headphones are about 15 years old and going strong. (pre fazor). Possibly my oldest electronics that regularly gets used. I do generally buy most of my stuff to either be repairable or durable and am thorough in my research before buying.

Bose Quietcomfort 25 noise-cancelling headphones- the best I've personally used.
After a year-long trip to the US about a decade and a half ago, I bought the QC15s before my flight back home. A while later, I purchased the Audeze LCD-3 along with an audiophile FLAC player from Japan (can’t remember the model). After enjoying audio nirvana with the LCD-3s for a while, I decided to pit the QC15s against the Audeze—and to my surprise (subjectively, of course), the difference wasn’t that dramatic. Really speaks to the quality of the Bose headset—going toe-to-toe with premium headphones at 10x the price.

I need noise cancelling head phones that are big enough that they competely cover the average adult woman's ears
The newer ones don’t give off the same vibes for me. Bought a set for my other kid on a crazy Costco sale at some point in the last 12 months. Still sturdy and reliable so far, but I’m not as convinced they’ll outlive me. Depending on your use cases: Audeze Maxwell will make it to the heat death of the universe. AirPods Max will last nearly that long.
