Looking for a couch that is actually worth the money- why does it feel impossible?
Smith Brothers of Berne Indiana. Made to order and very customizable. Their frames are made with kiln-dried hardwood maple and the cushions are 2.5 high density foam that should last. The company will be going on 100 years of business in 2026. I have their 9000 series chair and ottoman and it is so comfy and beautiful. Love that I got to design it myself. The one thing I do suggest is to be careful of what furniture store you buy from because you don’t buy direct from smith brothers but through a furniture dealer. So choose a dealer that has great reviews and takes care of their customers because if you do have issues with your smith brothers furniture, the dealer is the middle man between you and smith brothers. You can look at the smith brothers website to see all the fabric, wood, nailhead options and pieces of furniture they offer. You can also find a local dealer on their website. My second choice would be king hickory and my third choice would be Bassett furniture. Now, all three brands will have pricing dependent on how you customize your piece and where you purchase it from and if there are any deals going on. Example: I’m looking at getting a 9000 series large sofa from smith brothers. One dealer is quoting $3,600 with taxes and delivery but without any deal. Another dealer is quoting $3,000 with taxes, delivery, and 20% off. $600 in savings! Both have hundreds of great reviews. Good luck in your purchase. I inherited an autoimmune disease and know how important a good, lasting, comfortable piece of furniture is to someone who suffers from chronic fatigue.

Looking for a couch that is actually worth the money- why does it feel impossible?
We have a Bassett couch bought about 15 years ago. It was on sale at a local furniture store. I'll never get rid of it. It's as comfortable and firm as new. Survived teenagers, dogs, sleepovers and surgery recovery. It's a golden color and has cat scratches. (you can use couch covers ) My sister spent 3K on a leather couch and it lasted 3 years and it was so uncomfortable people preferred sitting on the floor .

Another vote for bassett. Their performance fabric too is a win. Avacado, red wine, chocolate has all come out no issues.

I have a Bassett sofa and oversized chair, custom ordered (I think they all are? Can’t remember.) in 2016. Both pieces have been used daily, with no special treatment, and still look and feel new. The attached cushions need to be fluffed occasionally but that’s it. 100% would recommend and would buy again. They are also incredibly comfortable, which is equally important!

Please help! Which couch (store)
Check out Bassett and Arhaus. Many are constructed in North Carolina and are great quality. We just bought a sectional from Bassett for about $6k after having a similar one for many years that held up super well.

Looking at purchasing Bassett Moby Couch and Chair!
Hi, a Basset Design consultant here, as someone who sells these and has read hours of training on how these are made they are probably the most well made couches out there, everything is made of real hardwood frames and have the highest quality foam cushions and options to upgrade cushions to different comfort levels. Everything is locally made and assembled. Since they do their own manufacturing everything is streamlined and they don't have to import or outsource and hence the quality and build is great. I have had customers whose sofas easily lasted 10 to 15 years. And they have 30% sales in almost all major holidays. If I could afford it I would have bought one!
