  Recommendations for Derby/Oxford style dress shoes?

  Beckett are great shoes. I have four pairs of various styles, my dad has a couple pairs of loafers and my wife a couple pairs of sneakers. All of them have been good quality, well made and very comfortable. They use Blake stitch construction on most of their shoes and boots (unless they have a thick rubber sole) which is resole-able but sometimes cobblers don’t have the machine. They always run sales so never pay the full price. They used to run shoes/boots on sale for well under $200, now they usually do a two-for bundle. If you sign up for their email and put a pair of shoes in your cart they will sometimes (most times) send you a 20% coupon code.

  Wife wants a high quality leather purse for Christmas (NOT “luxury” brands)

  Check out ren faire vendors. There's a lot of quality to be found there Backett Simonon has started making purses and may be worth a look. Their shoes are really solid, so I expect the bags will be too. Subtle, classic lines, a few sizes to choose from, and minimal branding stamped into the leather (I personally swear by my coach bags, and those won't fit the bill haha)

  Having trouble finding quality sneakers

  Beckett Simonon Morgens are great quality, resolable, and less than $250. I have a pair of white Morgens that I’ve had for 5 years or so and have put a ton of hard miles on (I’m a big dude and have worn them for lots of 15,000 step days), and they still look and feel great.

  Beckett Simonon makes great shoes. I haven’t handled their sneakers. But their dress shoes and boots are great quality for the price.

  I like Beckett Simonon. Made to order with quality materials. It'll take a couple of months to receive them but definitely worth it. They run sales pretty frequently, I got mine on a 2 for $199 sale and money well spent. This was for sneakers, they make dress shoes and boots as well but I can't speak to those.

  Looking for a brand similar to Grant Stone

  I got a pair from Beckett Simonon that I've worn for a year or two now, they're not as beefy as Grant Stone but build quality is excellent. r/goodyearwelt will probably be a good resource if you haven't looked there yet.

  Confession: I only buy clothes and most items made pre-2020

  Not to mention meermin and Beckett Simonon for more formal shoes around the Thursday price range. I hear Beckett simonon’s sneakers are good too but haven’t gotten a pair. Once you get to Grant Stone price range there are lots of options for bifl footwear.

  Going to Europe, suggestions for comfortable, not-ugly walking shoes that will last?
