Can't believe I haven't seen it posted, a Bed jet is the best thing I have bought in my life. It's basically a HVAC system for your bed. Warms it up or takes cool air from the floor to cool you off. I miss it so whenever I travel

Cooling bedding for hot sleepers with no AC
Low thread count cotton or silk bedding. Failing that a Bedjet might help but can dry the heck out of your sinuses.

What are some items under $500 you’ve made so far that changed your life?
I love my BedJet! I’ve had it 4 years, and the day it dies I’ll order another one. It will blow either room temperature air up underneath your sheets to cool you down, or heated air to warm you up. I primarily use mine to warm up, but I have a friend who uses hers mostly to cool down and she loves it as much as I do!

We have a wool duvet and it's a lightweight version which helps. I don't know how BIFL it is, but I have a few friends that swear by the BedJet

Hot sleeper here. I HAVE to sleep in the basement during the summer. No questions. I've tried everything and nothing is as good as a cool dungeon. However, I did but the "bedjet" sheet and that helped keep me upstairs longer. As well as the obvious fan pointed directly on me. Bedjet was nice but sort of expensive. You can get a dual climate zone version...like in a car. Or If your windows allow. I've always had portable AC units in my room when I haven't had the luxury of a basement.

BedJet. It’s not BIFL (moving parts, motor) but it is surprisingly durable. Cools and heats. And you don’t need to worry about feeling like you are laying on wires or tubes. My wife is always cold and I (was, not as much anymore) always hot - the BedJet solved the problem. We used to have a heated mattress pad that I hated because I could feel it under me, plus it didn’t cool.

Best type of cooling mattress?
As a hot sleeper, I finally bought a proper bed cooling system, and the difference is HUGE. It's the BedJet 3, and it works with hybrid mattresses that can't stay cool on their own. I didn’t care for the weighted blanket and the one I had was especially bad because the cover was a pain in the ass to take on and off. I threw it out when I got my BedJet, which is the best piece of bedding equipment I’ve ever owned. It’s not only soothing, it keeps me dry no matter what the outside or room temp is
