The 21st Century Ruined Everything 😭
I know they aren't trendy, but Belleville's basic military compliant boots are absolute workhorses. No boots last forever, but I have several pairs that have suffered abuse and neglect for more than seven years and still hold up well.

I’ve had these Timberland boots for over 10 grueling New England winters, still going strong
I needed a pair of steel toes and went with some (admittedly pricey) Bellevilles. Never hear them mentioned on reddit, but they're absolute beasts.

Any suggestions for high quality tactical platform boots like these ones?
Corcoran still makes old school combat boots. The danner fort Lewis has been a staple for a while. Belleville. McRae. Any of these brands. Search for berry amendment compliant with them and those will be higher quality.

Doc Martens vs army surplus boots
My friend absolutely swears by his Belleville shoe army boots, they are all he wears for casual, work, hunting, and everything else.

Hiking shoes - all my footwear gets a worn out heel from the inside and I am desperate to find something that lasts.
If you mean the insole is wearing out, yeah, just get something with a replaceable insole. If you mean the bottom sole is wearing out on the inside of your step, it's because you're pronating your foot. Pretty much everyone either pronates (bends foot inward) or supinates (bends foot outward). You don't need a podiatrist if you're not in pain. It's just a thing that happens. For good boots, look at Garmont Bifidas or Belleville Ultralights. I've used both for over 300 miles each and still no noticeable wear on either (in the sole or the boot itself). A sole made out of EVA foam will be more cushiony, but wear out sooner. Polyurethane will last way longer, because it's a lot more rigid, but that also makes it a bit less comfy. But some boots will blend both, so you just need to find where your balance is.

Comfortable boots that'll last?
Combat boots would probably be the best option. Like Belleville C300 ST $180. I think I only went through 1.5 pair in the Marines, I had to walk around base a lot so I was always on asphalt or cement Chatgpt suggested COFRA Men’s CSA Paving Boots $140
