Which coffee machine is better for home use: DeLonghi ECAM 450.55 S Eletta Explore or PHILIPS Series 5500 LatteGo EP5547/90?
If you really want a quality coffee machine then the absolute cheapest for an espresso machine is a gaggia classic pro. However, I cannot overstate this next part. Number one for producing good coffee is the coffee itself. Number two is the grinder, last most important part of this is the espresso machine. Don’t buy any delonghi products. I would recommend the espresso sub for this question. However they get snobby. Absolute barebones but it for life espresso machine is the gaggia classic pro. The downside for the gaggia classic pro is that it can take a while between shots to reheat. So if you’re getting multiple drinks out every morning then you need to get a heat exchange espresso machine or a dual boiler. If you have time to kill in the morning then the gaggia will be just fine. A grade above that would be a breville barista but it isn’t buy it for life. I would honestly call whole latte love and get their input. They are very helpful. I have a eureka mignon facile and a Bezzera bz 13 that should last for a super long time.

Looking for a coffee machine that lasts forever
My Bezzera expresso machine is over 50 years old, it gets used every day. I would definitely buy again if I needed another machine

Best coffee maker? Is there anything new in 2025?
A decent coffeegrinder like Bezzera BB005 and a E61 group based coffeemachine. Only one part where the coffee comes into contact with the machine (the showerhead), very easy to clean. Every once in a while a backflush to keep the group clean (very easy procedure). Makes the best espresso’s.

What home coffee essentials have held up and lasted you over time?
Well i would go with an Elektra or a Bezzera. Both have been making espresso machines for over a hundred years. Both made with fully replaceable parts that can be done at home if you're handy. I have [one of these](https://caffetech.com/products/elektra-sx-microcasa?srsltid=AfmBOoryLi3gHWGmCoh3MxrzIObkKIAaetnedI9QnEhCommCcUUowwmh). It will outlive me, i've had to replace $150 worth of parts in the last 25 years. I use it every single day.
