  Any experience with Born Shoes?

  I had the mens hemlock for 2 years and they were super comfortable. I wore them nearly everyday. Initially I got them to have a "nice" pair of boots for casual wear but they felt so good they ended up being everyday beaters, pretty much wore them exclusively for everything other than hiking or running. And I still wore them out to dinner. I worked in them in the yard, garage, and I'm always working on stuff, I put them through the wringer. Certainly they aren't meant for industrial or job site use though. For really wet conditions they aren't waterproof which was annoying and got worse with time but what did them in was the soles wore down and have no more traction. Otherwise it's still in great shape. And they are very comfortable. Took them to be re-soled and was told they are molded and it's not possible. Still, I just bought another pair and also a pair of the Brody. They both feel super comfortable. Maybe the Brody was bad for me to work in because it's suede but they feel great and are super light. I guess I need to find a pair of boots that's comfortable and actually designed for work and is resolable but these boots were comfortable enough they are still worth it. I don't think they are cheap at $150 bucks but nothing is cheap now. Steel toe work boots like I used to wear were nearly $200 and I'd wear them out in a year so I guess 2 years of hard homeowner use and still looking good enough to wear out to dinner for $150 isn't bad.

  Le Cruset Dutch oven - 28 years of service Mocha Master - omg the coffee is so good!!!! Cast iron skillet- I don’t even remember the brand but I’ve had it forever. My Born leather boots - comfortable for more than 10 years of weekend wear. This plain green t-shirt I bought from the Gap in 1998. This one “Santuko” (sp?) style knife I got from my Grandma that apparently is very high carbon steel and stays crazy sharp. My daughter wants me to pass it on to her one day.

  My birthday is coming up. What brand of Sandals should I ask for?

  I'm going to jump on the Chacos bandwagon here, because they are just so comfy, adjustable, AND you get to customize them!  I know you said you'd prefer gladiator sandals, but it's hard to find those with supportive soles.
