Any love for vintage guitar effects?
I resurrected my Charvel 3A and my three effects pedals, all from the 80s, after 33 years of dormancy. I pulled out my vintage Digital Delay, Chorus and Turbo-Distortion pedals, all carefully stored away, in dry airtight conditions. The guitar needed some work, so a couple of hundred bucks got it back on the road. Plugged the effects pedals in, and they all fired up without missing a beat. Reliable AF. Love my Boss FX pedals. Life, marriage, career, mortgage, kids and all kinda left no time for hobbies. So after the wife and I split after a quarter century together, the kids were grown and left home, I had some time. Can't play well, but back in the saddle and loving making a joyous noise, and trying to play my ever growing list of fave tunes.

Any love for vintage guitar effects?
I have found these form factors to be BIFL. The chassis is very rigid and the switch does not put stress on the PCB. The switch and the power supply socket are very easy to replace. The units can be disassembled quite easily. I have 40 year old bosses. My complex pedals such as loop stations or multi fx have all died within 4-10 years: software failure or button failure. They are not easy enough to work on to justify repair vs replace.

I went down the rabbit hole of all those boutique petals and ultimately boss petals are where it's at. Between a tube screamer or super overdrive and a DS1 distortion, my gain is pretty much covered. There are few pedals like the hm3 or Fz2 that I'm kicking myself for not getting Back when they were new, no I had to go and ask for a metal zone. :p

I will never, ever give up my Boss BF-2 Flanger. Bought it 30+ years ago with a Super Chorus and a DD-3 Digital Delay. They've lived permanently in a Boss BCB-3 pedal tray since the day I brought them home and all look mint.
