  Brabantia do pedal operated [dual compartment bins](https://www.brabantia.com/uk/collecting-waste/waste-bins-paper-bins/?number_of_compartments%5B0%5D=2+compartments&number_of_compartments%5B1%5D=2+compartments&operation%5B0%5D=Foot+control&operation%5B1%5D=Foot+control) but they are way beyond £30. Have had a single compartment bin for maybe 25 years and am very happy with it.

  Agreed. I’ve got a Brabantia kitchen bin with very specific liner requirements, and I’ve never had any issues with it in the 6 years I’ve now had it.

  Brabantia kitchen tools, the metal things. My garlic press is 28 years old (Profile garlic press looks the same). Also like to use what we call a thin peeler (dunschiller). Bijenkorf has good kitchen brands, located at the Dam square. I saw they had a tax free service. When you have time left, the Tony Chocolony store is close to the Dam. My favorite flavor is caramel sea salt, seems to sell faster than the other flavors. You can create your own chocolate bar on a computer, have your own text printed on the wrapper and pick it up later. You can see the little factory through the window. Be aware of pickpockets and you can stop that Duolingo course Dutch when you're going to Amsterdam. Last time I was there, lots of staff didn't speak Dutch. Don't go to the McDonalds near the Dam square, not clean, limp french fries, not friendly. Skip the ridiculously overpriced fresh "stroopwafels" (syrup waffles) dipped in all sorts of things that don't belong on a stroopwafel ☺️. Albert Heijn (to go) and other supermarkets sell them by the package. Put a stroopwafel on a mug with tea or coffee so the caramel warms up a little. Dutch snack: half a smoked sausage on a bun from a store called HEMA. Typically Dutch street food: frikandel, kroket, bamischijf (Indo-Chinese noodle dish shaped like a disk and breaded), nasi bal or nasischijf (Indo/Chinese rice dish, shapped, breaded and fried) from an "automatiek" (you pay and pull a tiny window in a wall open and get your snack out). Places like FEBO (the burgers are not great at FEBO).

  Where to get a laundry basket that lasts?

  We have some nice hampers from brabantia. I sort into some flexible plastic ones from Walmart. And I carry clean laundry to fold in an ikea bag :)

  Kitchen trash can. Need one that’s doesn’t break within the first year haha

  I've got a Brabantia push lid one. Had it for over a decade and it's like new (when I clean it). Brabantia offer free lid replacements if it breaks.

I have had mine for about 14 years with zero problems.
