  Looking for an office chair, but can't spend a $1k+ on a Herman Miller. Are there any cheaper alternatives I can get online?

  I'm also a big fan of my Branch - it's a much better fit if you're very short. I did add some cushions to it however.

  I own a Branch office chair and have had it for 4 or 5 years. Had it fail on me earlier this year, sent a picture in their support portal and had a replacement at my door in less than 2 days. Sure it failed, but they replaced it no questions asked very quickly.

  My wife and I both work from home full time. I have the Branch Ergonomic, she has the Branch Ergonomic Pro. We love them both, very reasonable prices.

  What is the best high-end home office chair?

  HM and Steelcase are great. And if you want another option, I needed a chair and didn’t feeling spending quite so much, so I got the Branch Ergo Pro seat, with headrest. Came to only $600 and seriously has fixed my hip which was bugging for quite some time. It allows the seat to have forward rake, and that seems to have made my overall seating experience much better. Very happy with that purchase. Not sure if it’s bifl I only had 7 months, but still feels new so I’m hopefully gonna get a decent span with it.

  What's are home office purchases you've made that have more than paid for themselves?

  This may not be your thing but an adjustable desk with a monitor arm so you can adjust things to your sitting position. (You want your monitor(s) at eye level and your typing position pointing down so blood flow is moving downhill to your hands, not uphill) You can have a great chair but if you're having to stare up or down and not eye level at your monitor then you're going to have neck issues. Some monitors might have some adjustability on their base but it was never enough for me. Once I got a monitor arm I was able to move things around and it made a huge difference. After I did that I focused on a chair (went with a Branch office chair since I didn't get money for a WFH setup and had to spend my own). It's still the most comfortable office chair I've ever owned. Final piece of the puzzle for me were some nice bookshelf speakers and a sub along with a DAC. Not necessary, but I listen to music and podcasts all day while I work and I was tired of headphones all day. I can offer some specifics if anyone is interested.

  I'm not made of money, herman miller aeron alternatives?

  I've had good experiences with Branch Furniture. I've been using their Ergonomic chair pro after upgrading from a used HM Sayl I got for $300. I had their original ergonomic chair a year and a bit ago and had to return it as the lumbar was uncomfortable. I gave them another chance since their service was good though, as the Sayl I found was a bit meh. Had the pro for about 6 months now and it's very comfortable compared to the original chair, the Ikea Markus, and HM Sayl (not sure if it would be the case if it was brand new though). The price is also good imo, but if I was able to find a used Leap v2 near me for a good price, I probably would have hopped on that instead. If you can't find a good refurbed chair near you, I think the Ergonomic Chair Pro is good though, and I've been happy thus far. For reference I am 5'8" and 140 LBs, sit/stand about 8-11 hours a day working from home as I also game after work for another 2-3 hours.

  stepdad’s son wrecked my setup. need BIFL replacement under $1k

  Not sure if you want leather, mesh, or fabric, but there are great ergonomic chairs under $1k. The Branch Verve is nice if you want something stylish but comfy too
