What product category has gotten worse in quality, even at the premium level?
It depends what you want and what your style is. For knitwear go for one of the Scottish manufacturers. Harley of Scotland, Jamieson, O'Connell's (American but Scottish made), etc. It's all 100% wool and made in traditional ways. They suit my climate the best so I stick with them. For shirts, Brooks Brothers made in USA, J Press, Gitman Vintage. Jeans: go with something all cotton. If it has stretch, it's not what you want. It's not my particular area of expertise so I won't comment on specific brands, but they're not hard to find. There's lots of Japanese and American makers that do good work. Sweatshirts/sweatpants/loungewear: House of Blanks. It's made in Canada and 100% cotton. They manufacture similar items for many fashion brands so just skip that and go straight to their house brand. But most importantly, learn how to care for your clothing and where to get your clothing repaired. Jeans develop a hole? Take it to a tailor. Shirt loses a button? Learn to sew one on yourself. We have more clothing options than ever and most people have far, far too much of it. Yes, all these options I've listen cost much more but you don't need a new wardrobe every season. Get quality, learn to care for it, and it lasts a very long time.

Casual Women’s Clothing for 33 year Old
I highly recommend going on Poshmark if she already has some favorites that have lasted and knows her size in that brand. I've gotten some great deals there on LL Bean, Brooks Brothers, and Banana Republic clothes that are reasonably well made as a petite woman.

Casual Women’s Clothing for 33 year Old
It’s hard to find quality construction these days. I have started shipping exclusively at the thrift store. I look for all-natural fibers and good construction, which you used to find on mid-market brands whereas now even high-end brands cut corners. Lots of timeless styles out there, or you can have a tailor adjust the silhouette. If thrift hunting is daunting then look on eBay. Pendleton, Ralph Lauren (not the green label Lauren though), Brooks Brothers. Vintage only: Benetton, Ann Klein, Missoni, Liz Claiborne. Vintage cashmere was higher ply and is more durable.

Best corporate gifting platform for durable, long lasting employee gifts?
My work uses a company called stadium. Had a good selection of quality products for us to choose from that we could pay for or use the balance they assigned us to get something. I got a nice brooks brothers jacket with our company name embroidered on it

Looking to build a closet that will last for years
For timeless, durable staples: suits from SuitSupply or Brooks Brothers, shirts from Proper Cloth, shoes from Allen Edmonds, and outerwear from Barbour or Filson.

Looking to build a closet that will last for years
Are you looking for business suits? Male or female sizes? Brooks Brothers or Pendleton, although I’d look at vintage Pendleton if female, as they only have one style of wool garbardine blazer anymore.

Wool coat recommendation
For a classic, tailored look, Brooks Brothers still makes very decent wool overcoats, but try to find their 'Made in USA' or 'Made in Italy' lines

Wool coat recommendation
OPs criteria: classic wool coat But, canvas (waxed or unwaxed) & hemp are good alternatives. With a cotton/ flannel liner if one wants to avoid synthetics. For insulation, not sure what the current consensus is, on environmental impact, of animal products vs synthetic (bit of a wash last time I researched). But, can’t avoid either if you require high performance & light weight as far as I know. https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-iron-forge-hemp-canvas-ranch-jacket/27805.html https://www.thehempshop.co.uk/hoodlamb-men-s-classic-jacket-1.html https://www.brooksbrothers.com/indigo-peacoat-in-cotton-canvas/ML00841.html https://axelsoutpost.com/products/yarmony-waxed-peacoat https://www.billyreid.com/products/waxed-canvas-bond-peacoat-black

If you started your wardrobe over from scratch, what would you buy? (US)
Wool, cotton, silk, cashmere, alpaca. Natural fibers constructed well. I would focus only on classic brands I love that hold up forever: Pendleton, LL Bean, Orvis, Duluth, Barbour, Levis, Ralph Lauren, Max Mara, St. John, Lafayette 148, some Brooks Brothers, vintage Armani. I would thrift more. I would buy more classic basics. Wish I would have known about fabrics and good construction in my 20s.

Wool Overcoat Suggestions
For that budget check out Spier & Mackay first Canadian brand with solid quality wool coats that punch above their price point. Also worth looking at Brooks Brothers during sales and SuitSupply.

Men’s underwear that actually lasts does it exist?
[Ibex.com](http://Ibex.com) sells merino wool underwear that is amazing. Also, Brooks Brothers' all cotton boxers are built to last.

Why is it so hard to find well-made clothes that aren't insanely priced?
Patagonia, Marmot, Orvis, LLBean (admittedly hit or miss), Barbour, Eileen Fisher (for women), check Irish import stores. Look at thrift stores for older Brooks Brothers, Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic, even Gap.

Men's leather gloves recommendations
They're not very technical, but I got a pair of Brooks Brothers shearling sheepskin gloves about 15 years ago and they're the warmest gloves or mitts I own. They were expensive then and even more now. But they were worth it.

I’m looking for a sweater that will last me a long time & is very comfortable - an investment (:
Brooks Brothers merino wool sweater. Have had a couple for 7 years, still looking like new. No pilling, elbow wear or anything. Recently just bought a couple of cotton sweaters from them, very different quality.

What's a purchase under $50 that has genuinely improved your daily routine?
A $5 Brooks Brother beach type bag that I got probably 10 years ago that serves as my lunch bag. 12 oz Yeti tumbler that I got for making a $50 donation to an Alma Mater. Great size for coffee. Stainless steel cookware. Paid more than $50 for everything, but you can get decent pieces for that amount. Durable and cooks well. Shoe cabinet in the entryway. Probably paid $50ish. Keeps shoes in wear regularly organized and can keep my keys/bag/miscellany stuff in a tray on the top.

looking for natural fiber women’s dress pants
I would start from aritzia and brook brothers . They had cotton “ no iron” ones. It really makes care easier. They still better be ironed but they don’t look as bad out of the washer as regular ones

Men’s fashion brands
Nothing lasts forever no matter the quality. Also it depends on how you use the clothes, be it everyday or casual, for work, events etc. You can check for brands like Ralph Lauren (look out for the purple labels), barbour, L.L bean, Brook brother, pendleton flannels, everlane in stores (Amazon, Alibaba, ebay or wherever you make your purchases).

Plain but quality mens clothing that isn't too showy
"Plain but quality mens clothing that isn't too showy" In the US, I think this describes Brooks Brothers very well. Pricing is at the higher end of department store brands but below boutique brands. Quality is commensurate. Style is classic.

Pretty much all the really nice ones. Banana republic, though they’re hit or miss these days. I like j crew. Brooks Brothers.

Plain but quality mens clothing that isn't too showy
My go-tos for high quality clothing without logos (or at least not obvious ones): Brooks Brothers Faherty Jockey (look for your black tee here) Duck Head Club Monaco Peter Millar Also, for stitched on logos (not embroidered ones) you can buy a seam ripper. It’s a cheap little tool that you can use to remove the logos and leave basically no trace.

What are your favorite niche BIFL items that are currently available?
Knipex pliers and wire/cable/zip tie cutters For a toolbox/bag, anything by Veto Pro Pac. I like the vertical electrician’s bags but all their products are elite Brooks Brothers MiUSA Oxford cloths. I don’t care about the price; they’re worth it

Trying to become a quality > quantity person, clothes edition.
I have had that same issues. I discovered Brooks Brothers, and am amazed at the quality compared to what I am used to. Also, the fit is way better, and have washed sever pieces more than 10 times and they keep getting better. Would suggest, even for curvy girls :)
