What brands/products do you AVOID because of their poor longevity?
Tbh with you I find myself buying from less different brands thanks to the ecosystem nowadays. Most of my tech: Apple. Drinkware: Owala, Brumate, Fellow & Snowfox. Houseware: SimpleHuman etc. Some of them are more expensive but at the very least I know I'm getting quality and not having to replace things early. But I'm more of a "buy it for 10 years" than life kind of consumer.

My mother wants a very specific thermos for Christmas
Yep, I think BrüMate may be the right answer. Those are the first I've seen that meet all of OP"s requirements. Question for you: how well do they handle being dropped?

My mother wants a very specific thermos for Christmas
Check out Brumate products. I have probably 12-15 different products of theirs (for myself, my husband, and my 3 kids). They’re 100% leak proof too. They have ones for cold drinks, hot drinks, alcohol/cans/bottles, etc. We haven’t had any issues with any of them. I can toss one full of coffee or water in my tote bag and it won’t leak at all. My kids know how to use the “locks” on their water bottles as well (they’re 2, 4, and 6 years old)

Does anyone have a recommendation for a single cup thermos flask?
I just ordered a Brumate champagne flute with a "leakproof" lid. Fingers crossed.

With a new style of water bottle popping up every year, Which one have you stuck with?
Brumate Era. It doesn't leak and frankly looks better than a Stanley.

For durability and no handle, hands down my nalgene small mouth water bottle. I've had it for over 15 years. No o rings, no fuss, no anything wrong with it. For innovative and home use only with handle, brumate era 40 oz and it's not close for me.

My kleen kanteen has been keeping my water ice cold for over a decade, my close second is the brumate it doesn’t stay cold as long but I love the handle and how easy it is to take apart and clean. I do hate the coating on it though just because I hate the texture, sort of powder coated.

Best reusable bottles that are easy to clean?
I totally get what you mean. I have the same issue with hidden spots that are hard to reach. I’d recommend checking out [Brumate](https://x.com/BestToBuyDeals/status/1939577283200655434) bottle, they make stainless steel bottles with a wide mouth and no plastic at the top, so you can easily see and clean the entire inside. Also, there’s a really handy bottle brush that attaches right to the sink (a special bristle one), which makes cleaning even easier and less stressful or an [electric bottle brush cleaner](https://x.com/BestToBuyDeals/status/1973750765778096447) with silicone bristles.

Water Bottles - but with a straw that is easy to clean
Brumate has a locking straw feature and the straw itself is metal. Very easy to take apart to clean and when it's in the locked position, it's truly leak proof. They also have magnetic straw caps in case you want to keep the straw clean.

I really like (insulated) water bottles with a sip/straw type opening, but the straw always seems to crack within 1-2 years. Any BiFL type options?
[Brumate Era](https://www.brumate.com/pages/era-series). Also sold at Amazon. 30 or 40oz sizes, insulated, integrated stainless steel straw with silicone tip, leak proof straw lid, magnetic straw cap accessory available on their website. My wife bought a 30oz Brumate Era and likes it very much.

Ever Bought Something That Quietly Changed You?
i really like my 40 oz brumate era tumbler. it’s leak proof and has great design features. plus the straw is stainless steel and everything is easy to take apart and throw in the dishwasher. my problem is i don’t want to put it in the dishwasher and it be out of use while it’s running 😝

BIFL request: A thermos that actually keeps tea hot for hours
Project Farm recently tested tumblers again, although the Zoji-whatever ones mentioned in comments here wasn't part. In keeping hot only Stanley and Corkcicle got an A+. Contigo and CamelBak an A Milwaukee an A- Yeti and BruMate B+ Other ratings were subjective, corrosion resistance of Stanley worse than Corkcicle as well as spills. Stanley more leak proof though.

BIFL request: A thermos that actually keeps tea hot for hours
I have a Brümate mug that keeps my coffee hot for a long time. However, it MUST be hand washed, absolutely no dishwasher. Are you (or someone else) washing yours in the dishwasher?

what's your ideal water bottle
I have a Brümate and it's the best water bottle I've ever purchased. It's tapered to fit in the car cup holder, has a nice thick handle, very well insulated, magnetic removable straw, and you can lock the straw to make it leak-proof and throw it in your bag without worrying that it'll spill! They come in several difference sizes and have lots of color options too!

Water bottle that keeps water cold?
[Here’s Project Farm’s most recent water bottle/tumbler video](https://youtu.be/PgWQ2eJN2I8?si=Yy__N2fh21AI6ByW) which informed my decision to get a Milwaukee packout water bottle (the one with a chug lid though) and a Brumate straw water bottle for my wife. We are very happy with both.

Avoid cheap protein shakers! Use metal, or durable plastic.
Yep it’s still working great. My wife has her new preferred water bottle now - a Brumate Era 30oz. I use the Ice Shaker for morning smoothies on car rides now and it works great.

Hi. I’m looking for a new water bottle.
[brumate era 30 or 40oz](https://www.brumate.com/pages/era-series). Integrated stainless steel straw with silicone tip. Lock to close off the water and make it leakproof. Magnetic cap accessory available for the straw on their website. The era is also available on Amazon.

Anyone have good experiences with glass travel mugs?
I had my keepcup for 6 years and one day it shattered when I placed it in the sink. It’s upsetting. Now I have a Brumate and love it. No Spill!

Anyone have good experiences with glass travel mugs?
Lol yes mouth I forgot the word for it. Yeah it was really tiny I guess in their mind to avoid a major spill. I just started trying out a Brumate cup. It’s pretty good at sealing but I can’t speak to the lid longevity or if the company will be here down the road. S’well stands by their products pretty well.

Are Stanley thermoses recommended
Project farm tested a [video](https://youtu.be/PgWQ2eJN2I8?si=zcnO2jhrzhrXFaRW) testing alot of them against Stanly and for my girls needs the brumate was a better option for her. He even has a chart at the end of the video as well

[Request] All metal water bottle that's easy to hand clean
I have a BruMate Era and really like it. It’s leakproof, and the part of the straw that sits in water is stainless steel instead of plastic. The mouthpiece of the straw is silicone. I also like that the handle is attached at two points, not jut at the top.
