  Winter hat for baldy who runs warm?

  Have you tried a buff (the upf sun kind)? When I’m doing aerobic activities in winter I wear a sun hat and have a buff around my neck I can pull up over my ears and add a little extra to the top of my head for warmth and protection from wind. I find it perfect for uphill activities, and then I add a full beanie for downhill.

  Consider getting a pair of convertible mittens a size or half a size up from what you usually wear and a pair of wool glove liners for underneath them. Mittens keep your hands warmer since it doesn't separate your fingers. If you need the dexterity they can flip out since they're convertible and allow you the full use of your fingers. Glove liners will help insulate you further and aren't usually all that thick. If that doesn't work for you getting some latex gloves keeping water off your skin that you wear under the gloves might help too if it's wet and snowy. Skip the scarf unless you really need it. Look into Buff. It's a neck warmer meant for skiers and you can tuck it down into your shirt easily so no wind gets through. You can pull it up or down if you need more insulation and easily untuck it to allow your skin to vent moisture. Consider getting a heated vest or just a warm vest. It keeps weight off your arms and by keeping your core warm allows blood to circulate out more towards your fingers and toes. Some general tips for working in the cold: have two pairs of boots and alternate days between them so they have time to fully dry out. It'll make them last exponentially longer. Cleaning and conditioning them regularly if you will be working around any sort of road/sidewalk salt is extremely important. On a similar note a boot dryer is a good investment. Pack at least two pairs of socks and change them every 4-5 hours or so. Our feet sweat more than any other part of our body which is why they get cold so easily. I typically switch during lunch at the halfway point. Occasionally unzip your jacket and get some fresh air into all the insulation. It'll vent moisture from everything and allow your clothes to actually keep you warmer in the long term.

  For traveling, a Buff! Never again without. Still got my first one from 12 years ago, which got a tiny hole by now. Always at hand when your enviroment is dusty/smelly (rural china), emergency hat for rain, and best of all, travel sleeping mask (keep it on your lower neck, but pull the front over your eyes, light pressure and total blackout). At home: Budget stick vacuum cleaner. No more hunting for dust bags, no more cable hassle, and very quick and nimble usage.

  Warmest beanie for Siberia - so what lil brains I have don't freeze.

  I have a buff and i'm in the UK. They're really useful for when your coat has a neck cover on it too. Stuff the thin buff in the top and it's 10 degrees warmer inside
