  Best BIFL rice cooker and accessories?

  Most will say Zojirushi, BUT BE WARNED: all Zojis have Teflon pots, ie you're cooking your food in PFAS * Teflon is the trade name for PTFE, ie polytetrafluoroethylene * PTFE, as a perfluorinated polymer, is part of the broader group of polyfluoroalkyl substances, ie PFAS, aka "forever chemicals" * That said, current science consensus is that PTFE doesn't pose significant cancer or disease risks; that may or may not change in the future If you want an alternative to Teflon, I've been using a stainless steel Buffalo IH Smart Cooker for a few years and I LOVE it! It's so awesome to be able to use stainless utensils right in pot with no worries of scratching the coating (or leaching chemicals. It uses induction cooking and is equal or better than my Zojis in every way

  Men's rain jacket that's actually waterproof

  Most waterproofs are laminated either with a highly durable but non breathable plastic or a very delicate breathable membrane. Neither breathe when it’s raining heavily the humidity inside and out is the same so no water transpires. Because non breathable are much more robust you will be drier inside a 6 month old non breathable waterproof when it actually rains but feel damp if you don’t take it off when the rain stops. DWR only speeds up how quickly a waterproof can begin breathing after rain because it beads the standing water off. The third choice is hydrophobic fabrics. Parimo and buffalo lead this. Put a fleece behind a non waterproof but densely woven fabric and most (almost all) water won’t come through but when the rain stops it’s super super breathable. You can fall in canoeing and be dry by the end of the day. They have no lining to fail so are close to BIFL. They are soft and light so you are comfortable wearing them all day and you don’t need to keep taking them off to protect the membrane.

  Rice Cooker Recommendations

  I don't know if it's a BiFL, because I've only had it a couple of years, but I really like my Buffalo rice cooker because it has a stainless steel pot. My zojirushi's nonstick lining eventually failed, and the replacement pots are not inexpensive.

  Zojirushi v.s. Tiger Made in Japan rice cookers

  Buffalo makes a high end rice cooker with multi-ply stainless steel inner pot. Solid Taiwanese brand that's been around for decades but a little lesser known in US. The inner pot doesn't stick. Yep, SS and doesn't stick.

  Omg I am so sorry. NOT "Tiger". Mine was Buffalo Rice Cooker! You can search "stainless steel Buffalo Rice Cooker". I got mine for around $200, it is very good and safe.
