  I have a Casper pillow I purchased at target It comes apart into two pieces so you can adjust the firmness, I take apart and wash 2x a year. Probably should replace it, but IIR it was expensive, and every wash makes it feel new again I have a reoccurring pinched nerve in my neck, and this pillow is able to conform between my head and shoulder to take the pressure off my neck.

  I've had a Casper mattress for the past 5 years or so and I would definitely recommend it, feels as firm and supportive as day one. Prior to that I had a Zinus mattress for nearly ten years which I would highly recommend if you're on a super tight budget.

  Latex is essentially king, in terms of support and longevity. Memory foam (the proper density and quality) is probably next in line. Mattress underground breaks this all down for you. You can get a latex hybrid which can be a good middle ground.

  I recently bought the Casper queen bed in a box at Costco, because I also had analysis paralysis. I believe it was $599 and figured if I don’t like it I’m not out a ton of money and we can move it to a guest bed. It’s probably not BIFL but I’m not taking a chance on a $4000 bed that develops a dip in five years. I’ve had it for five months, and I actually really, really like it. It’s supportive yet soft. I’m 200lbs and it hasn’t developed a dip where I sleep. I think it stays cool, and I’m a hot sleeper.

  What are some good memory foam mattresses that you've found it worth buying?

  Been using a Tempur-Pedic for like 3 years now and it's held up really well, though definitely pricey. Worth checking out some of the bed-in-a-box brands too - Purple and Casper get mentioned a lot around here for good reason

  BIFL Bed Frame Mid-Century

  I like my Casper Repose natural wood bed frame. A lot of it is solid real wood. The headboard is a nice plywood.  I don’t know that anything West Elm is BIFL. They seem to have fancier IKEA quality stuff. Compressed wood chips with a nice plastic cover.

  Best Quality of life gift ideas under $150

  I don't see people recommending them but I really love my Casper pillow. I have an older model that unzips and there's a smaller pillow inside that you can fluff. They can be washed at home and are the right consistency to me. They're not super hard or super soft. You can adjust it to your liking by taking the insert out. Honestly my favorite pillow so far.

  I got a Casper from Costco in August. I was worried it wasn’t going to be firm enough, but it is. It’s a medium firmness, but it’s pretty firm. Product #1748800 Casper Cooling Select, Queen. Comes rolled up in a box, you may be able to get it in your trunk and transport it with the trunk open and strap the box down so it’s well secured. Costco’s other popular bed in a box is the Novaform, it has more “hug” when you lay on it. It gets good reviews but I prefer a firmer mattress, which is why I went with the Casper.

  I owned a Casper hybrid (their top model) for about 3 years. Year one: amazing. really comfortable, cool, and good support. But by year 2–3, the middle wedged down more than I expected, and sitting at the edge got less stable. If I were in your shoes, I’d consider something more durable or with reinforced edges. Hamuq’s hybrid is one option I’ve tried since then; feels firmer and still solid, even after regular use

  A good mattress, do they exist anymore?

  I've had a Casper for about 7 years. So far, so good. I bought 3 more for the guest rooms. Here is what I learned: The less expensive ones are only 12 inches deep, which makes buying sheets a tad difficult. That depth could also mean that depending on your body and sleep habits, it will sag simply because it's a "shallower" mattress. They do sell 14" ones too. You DO have to rotate them. They will get slightly saggy if you don't. I found that rotating them quarterly helps them last. I bought mine at Costco, which has a less expensive version than those selling from Casper directly. My husband and I bought a really expensive mattress years ago. It hurt my back for years and because we paid thousands for it, I kept looking for ways to make it more comfortable.... Pads, foam , you name it. Finally, something like 6 years later, I called it quits, paid $500 for the Casper (it was a new company then), and slept so well. Mattress salespeople are the new snake oil hawkers. The truth is more expensive (horse hair, down, foam etc) doesn't mean ANYTHING if you are uncomfortable! Sometimes a less expensive one is all you need. Good luck.

  I try to avoid pillow top mattresses after having one sag like crazy but it's very hard to find. Currently I have a Casper mattress in the primary and a Sealy Posturepedic Hybrid in the guest room. Both are pretty great. Sealy runs sales on their website really often. I always add a foam topper too. That way if any sagging starts to happen I can just replace the topper. The Foam Factory website sells nice toppers. I'm a big fan of their HD36-HQ egg crate topper.

  To be fair my bf doesn’t think it’s changed at all. I definitely feel that it’s softer, but maybe it won’t actually be sagging in a year two. Apparently the padding does get softer after awhile, so maybe that’s all i’m feeling. Regardless, we’ll be casper buyers for life because it’s so damn comfy

  bf and i bought the hybrid casper 4 years ago. its the comfiest mattress either of us have ever used and when we stay elsewhere, all we talk about is how much we miss our own bed lol. we’ve made sure to turn it every 6ish/12ish months (depends when we remember) to help with longevity. its still in good shape, but i will say in about another yearish it will probably be sagging

  Check out Casper snow and snow max. For hybrids, they are on the softer and cooler side for sure. And they have that nice all-foam feel to them. I ended up getting a snow bc we like a true medium. The snow max was also super comfy, but a tad too soft for us.

  For anyone reading this I just want to chime in and recommend the regular Snow Hybrid instead of snow max. It’s extremely comfortable and supportive - a perfect medium feel for me and my partner. I’ve only had it a month so far but I can tell it’s going soften up a bit more once we fully break it in. We’re both mainly side sleepers (140 & 180 lbs) and we initially liked the snow max better. But we realized that over time we would probably start to feel like we’re sinking in. Overall really happy with our decision.

  Looking for durable bed frame!

  It does support a bed, it just requires a box spring and/or slats to do so. My current bedframe was super cheap, like $195 from Living Spaces fresh out of college, had it for over a decade. It has 3 or 4 cross-braces that are in various stages of disrepair from multiple moves, but still hold the frame rigid because that’s all they need to do. It packs up really well when you take it apart, so maybe that helps shipping costs down? When it was time for a new mattress, we went with a package from Casper that came with slats, a box spring, a cooling foam mattress and two pillows. Slats go across the top, then a box spring, then mattress.

I watched a ton of videos and I know what you mean but I just bit the bullet and bought this one and it's been great. And it wasn't super expensive either.   Where do you buy hotel-quality bed sheets and pillows without spending a fortune? I want my bed to feel like a Marriott stay.

  also to clarify, Percale is a type of weave, not material. Its tight, simple crisscross pattern leaves sheets cool and breathable. Look for the pattern on long-staple combed Egyptian or Pima/Supima cotton in the 400-600 count range and you’ll be in the lap of luxury with sheets that only grow softer after every wash. And you’ve still got a dozen affordable options like Pizuna, Pointehaven, L.L. Bean, Brooklinen, Caspter, etc. But if you want to save a few and settle for a bargain "ultra soft, brushed microfiber Percale sheets" you’re likely getting a synthetic polyester or rayon that leaves you in a pool of sweat.

  well, no mattress will last the rest of your life unfortunately. sleep numbers are close.due to being all component based, so you can swap out individual pieces instead of replacing the whole thing. the warranty is for 25 years with the first two years completely free for any replacement. the trick is to warranty a new top with he padding for free, then save it till you need it. i used to have one and as a side sleeper they were great. out of your list tho, id go for purple or casper

  I bought a few Casper years back and still have them around. I also tried the Purple pillows, my wife actually likes them, but it feels a bit too bouncy for me personally. I still keep it in our bedroom though. Saw this cloud-shaped pillow from Mellow Sleep on TikTok recently and figured I’d try it. Not really into the shape and I'm more of a regular pillow person but it’s surprisingly comfy.

  I have not, I’m sure they are great, but I have a routine of throwing away my pillows every six months. Mainly just because I find that it helps my dust mite allergy. I really like Casper pillows, they’re a little expensive, but not too expensive, I don’t mind tossing them.

  I've had the Large Casper Dog beds for years and my dogs love them. Foam still holding up (since 2018) and they sell replacement covers (though they arent cheap and I belive you need to email them). I've bought one replacement for each so far.

  Casper mattresses have a softer band where your shoulder blades are, allowing very slightly more lumbar support for back & side sleepers. 100day free returns. Note the band makes it non-rotatable but my brother in law said it was a dream when he was housesitting.

  I think it just depends on how you like your bed, how you sleep and the price point. I got a queen casper at costco for a little over 650 bucks. I've had it now for 5 years and no rut. It's a firm bed with a good bit of give on the top memory foam layer. Personally, I love it. But keep in mind I'm a 6 ft dude who weighs 190 lbs, so your millage may vary depending on body shape and whatnot.

  had a Casper for about 6 years. it's... fine? definitely has some impressions where I sleep but not enough to cause back pain yet. their customer support was good when I had questions though. just make sure whatever you get has at least a 365 night trial period. some of these mattresses take time to break in.

  Because it's a big brand I'm sure it will ruffle some feathers to mention it, but my wife and I  have zero complaints with the Casper mattress we've had for the past 6-7 years or so. All our kids have the twin versions as well.

  What’s your best lazy-but-functional home upgrade?

  Cheap, but Casper motion-sensor glow lights are a gamechanger for bathroom or anywhere you might need to go in the middle of the night when you don't have all your mental faculties online. Plus, you can see without having to blast your eyes with unnecessary amounts of light by turning on the overhead. Easier to go back to sleep if you need to.

  Bed stuff I'm thinking of buying

  I love my weighted blanket. I did have to get a different cover for it because the highest rated one at the time (Dr. Hart’s) came with a cover that was *way* too warm. We’ve got a Casper fitted sheet and a Slumber cloud “cooling” mattress pad, and I love both. Unfortunately, everything I’ve listed was fairly expensive. (Kinda wish I hadn’t reminded myself how much that mattress pad cost).
