  What are the most durable shirts?

  I have bought and worn shirts from Charles Tyrwhitt (ctshirts.co.uk) for over 20 years now. The “multi-buy” deals offer excellent value-for-money. Any given shirt will last a few years of reasonable use.

  I have been swearing by Charles Tyrwhitt (ctshirs.co.uk) for shirts and polos and knitwear for over 20 years. Numerous multi-buy deals per year and sales mean you should _never_ buy anything at standard price. Quality for socks and underwear is much more volatile than for shirts. I’ve switched to Uniqlo without regrets.

  What purchase changed your habit?

  Not the person you asked, but there are lot of potential anwser depend on a lot of personal factors. I am also working through a similar process myself. I would summarize it as buying fewer but much higher quality clothes. Most importantly they need to be made out of decent material and fit you well. I also started with good quality good year welted shoes. My $50 Kohls dress shoes and belts look like crap after a few months and where totally wore out in 6. I ended up buying some Thursdays and Allen Edmunds dress shoes I have now been wearing for years. Same goes for clothes, cheap dress shirts would shrink and loose their shape and look terrible. I started buy higher end used off of ebay/ market place for about the same price as the cheap stuff new. They look much nicer even after multiple wears. I personally like Charles Tywitt for shirts. But that will depend on what fits you correctly and what type of clothes you wear. For casual stuff I bought a few pairs of American made jean (american giant and dearborn dennim) I have been really happy with. Once again, got to find what fits you right and meets your need. Haven't bought new jeans in years. I haven't locked down. T shirts I like yet, but open to suggestions.

  This is not /r/malefashionadvice so you need to take your ass to the right sub as this ain't it. Grenadine ties are only made in Como, Italy so the brand name on the tie literally means zero. Search for grenadine ties and buy one of the ding dong things as the only variables are color/pattern and flat or pointed. Sam Hober and Charles Tyrwhitt are popular source.

  Anyone know of good quality, ok priced Oxford shoes? (UK)

  For £150 you could opt for a used pair of ‘good’ shoes - maybe some Crockett & Jones or Trickers (or if you’re lucky John Lobb or Edward Green perhaps, but they tend to go for more). Trickers will last and last if that’s what you’re looking for. Sliding down the scale a little you’d definitely get some Barkers or Loake, maybe two or three pairs for your money. You’ll could also consider brands like Grenson and Cheaney, but in my experience they tend to be more fashion forward and less well made. If you want new - Charles Tyrwhitt sell their own brand Oxfords for £149 - their ‘Made in England’ line are made for them by Barker, their other lines are Loake.

  Lol couldn’t agree more about Brooks Brothers. I used to love their shirts. The ones I purchased awhile ago have held up great. Went to the store to buy more and walked out empty handed. Just bought my first two dress shirt from Charles Tyrwhitt and will be buying more!

  If you need dress shirts, I've heard good things about Charles Tyrwhitt. Haven't gotten their shirts myself, though. I used to buy Brooks Brothers, but they've REALLY been enshittified. Uniqlo's OCBD shirts are pretty good for the price. For "going out" clothes, it really depends on your style. You can do a lot with a jacket, T-shirt, chinos, and leather boots.
