What’s the BIFL item that you love but everyone around you thinks is ridiculous?
Thing is, after inflation adjustment, this knife now (the 31 version) costs less new than when I got my 21 in 2019 (but the wait for one from the manufacturer is now incredibly long). But yes, it's very expensive, hence why people think it's ridiculous! But also, this isn't anywhere near the top end of even the non-custom market (Chris Reeve knives aren't exactly mass produced, but the they aren't custom). Here's the [Benchmade Mini Narrows](https://www.benchmade.com/products/743), from a company people here love and of the same basic size as my Small Sebenza, and it costs more than $125 more (and *still* isn't the top!) And the Chris Reeve warranty allows maintenance disassembly; Benchmade does not. (And btw, one big reason I bought my Chris Reeve knife is because I'm left handed and, for once, wanted a high quality knife that works for my handedness in the way that they work for right handers.)

What’s the BIFL item that you love but everyone around you thinks is ridiculous?
My Chris Reeve Sebenza knife. I got it used and it completely lost it's edge so I mailed it to the manufacturer to get resharpened for free and it came back looking and feeling brand new again. I will never need a new knife for as long as I live and I have no doubt it will outlive me.

What’s the BIFL item that you love but everyone around you thinks is ridiculous?
Given how people downvote me here whenever I mention it: my Chris Reeve left handed Small Sebenza 21. It's dead simple: high precision manufacturing; top quality materials; perfect comfort in my hand; the Insingo (modified sheepsfoot) blade performs exactly like I need it to; no special bits are needed for disassembly maintenance; its warranty is not voided by taking it apart; and if for any reason it has some kind of issue (including if you can't put it together again after taking it apart), you can send it to their shop in Idaho and they'll take care of it all for you for free or . BIFL to me is about the whole package: lasts a lifetime, but *also* lets the owner do proper maintenance. Some companies disallow maintenance disassembly in their warranties, which a complete BIFL deal-breaker IMO.

Gift Ideas for My Boyfriend Who Has Everything?
He sounds similar to me in hobbies. A REALLY dope folding knife may be in order. Does he have any to give off a clue of what brand he likes? If not, a Chris Reeve Sebenza might be a home run.
