A few brands I'll probably stick with for life
Chrome and Timbuk2 have both treated me well. I got a warranty replacement on my chrome bag 2 years after I bought it, and all I had to do was take a picture of the warranty tag cut out of the bag. Had a brand new one in a week, and didn't even have to pay shipping.

Backpack suggestions?
I’ve got a Chrome courier bag that I bought 20some years ago and it’s still in great shape. Used to ride my motorcycle with it close to 300 days a year.

Backpack suggestions?
Either Osprey Nebula or REI Ruckpack 30L Or just get a Chrome or Timbuk2 messenger if you insist on not using both straps

Backpack suggestions?
Crome. Made for bike messengers, so built to carry a wide variety of things. I have had mine for 17 years, used daily, and apart from 1 buckle braking when I got run over by a car, not a single rip or tear. I have the mini Metro, I do regret not getting the next size up.

Chrome messenger bag I’ve had for over a decade of heavy use.
love this so much. I have the 'silver' version of this one. I got it hand me down in '06/07 and I think it’s from 04. he was a messenger in RVA and got a backpack style. this thing is 20+yo and I daily used it for 15 of those until '22. it’s been on 3 continents and had the shit beat out of it. Chrome in NYC(RIP that awesome ass store) sewed the inner lining when an errant tequila bottle punctured it. :) I just love these stories. Still the best bag I have - and likely will - ever own.

What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy but now you swear by it?
My Chrome messenger bag. I bought it a the bike convention in 1999. It’s been all over the nation as I’m a touring musician now. Never failed in any aspect.

Looking for an 18 inch messenger bag for my laptop. Any recommendations?
My chrome bag is old still rocks. It's survived countless miles in the sun, being hit by a car and hitting the deck several times, and even survived baggage handlers. That's the one you want.

Hi I’m looking for a suggestion for a messenger bag that
Not leather but my dad got a Chrome messenger bag in like 2011ish that I'm still running for smaller stuff - he gave it to me when he got a bigger one and I started using it less when I bought the backpack. It can handle the weight and it's a clean enough design to still look professional despite not being leather. It looks a bit worn but works like new.

What is your most unintentional BIFL item?
Chrome Kadet Sling. I’ve fallen on that sucker so many times and barely a stitch out of place. Large enough to carry a lot, small enough to carry a little. Stylish, functional, and tough as nails. They’re having a sale right now too. (I also have a barrage pack from them that I like but not nearly as much as the Kadet)

What’s one thing you bought once and it’s still going strong years later?
Got a Chrome brand backpack, roll top. Taken daily abuse since 2016 and is still going strong. “Seatbelt” chest buckle gave up a few years ago but I hardly used it anyway, rest of the bag is still pretty solid.

Need college laptop recommendation
Do NOT buy a macbook. I was suckered into buying it because of the fact that it connects to my phone, watch, Ipad etc. BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY. It's such a POS. Buy a windows or chrome!!!!

Are there any leather messenger bags that go for less than $100 that would last at the very least a long time?
If you want a messenger bag that will outlast you get a chrome bag but only buy during their sales. I’ve seen the messengers go for like 100-140. https://chromeindustries.com

Stylish and Functional Men’s Backpack for Urban Use?
+1 for Chrome… I put their barrage pack through stuff no pack should have to endure.
