Yep, and I used to buy classico for this reason. There were a few that were mason compatible. There are international standards for some of these things but I think America just likes to be proprietary and weird about stuff.

Why doesn't my Dyson fan/purifier use an [IEC C13](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEC_60320#C13/C14_coupler) AC power cord, instead of being a painful hour's process to replace it with a [$30 replacement](https://www.partswarehouse.com/Dyson-Power-Cord-Assembly-Am11-Tp02-Tp03-DYS-966944-02-p/DYS-966944-02.htm)?

Stuff you will continue buying for life
I still have a bunch of old Classico red sauce jars that have standard mason lids. The pesto containers from Costco uses mason threading too, so I save the plastic lids from those to use when the steel ones get worn out.
