Like others have said, can't go wrong with Concept2 rowerg or bikeerg. I do think the rower is the better cardio machine overall but I personally found it easier to just get on and ride with the bike. I also bought a cool desk which rests atop the bike handles and use that to read/study while I'm riding.

I have a choice to either buy a stationary bike or a treadmill that I want to use for the next 6-7 years. Which one should I get?
Concept2 Rower or SkiErg. It will last for decades, and its way more efficient at developing fitness than either the treadmill or the bike.

You should buy whatever you will use the most for fitness. It doesn’t matter if your treadmill is bifl quality if it’s just a clothes hanger. That said, you need to spend $$$ for a treadmill that lasts. If you’re willing to invest that great, but it’s a little cheaper to get a stationary bike that will last given they don’t need to support your body weight. Personally for my home gym I like my rowing machine on days I’m not running. It’s a full body workout, the concept2 is a bifl machine for “reasonable” for a fitness machine, and I enjoy it. Again though, first priority should be something that you’ll use or it’s a waste of money regardless of how quality it is, unless you care that someone get a second hand bifl purchase.

I’ve had great warranty experiences with Hunter Douglas, Kohler/Kallista, Schlage, All-Clad, Wusthof, Harbor Freight Icon tools, and Concept 2.

These were built to be rebuilt. On the Felco website you can order almost any part of any model individually or as a kit. What other products could be given the ship of theseus treatment like this?
Concept 2 rowers. They still support every model they've made, which is ace for those of us who bought 2nd hand broken ones!

Concept2 rower in 1997 my senior year in college. Not cheap but going on 28 years and still good as new.

I was a D1 collegiate rower. We had a whole fleet of Concept 2s in the erg room, and those things took such a beating. Like, they got used for hours every day. If you get one, it will absolutely last!

Yes, there's a reason that Concept2 rowers are the gold standard and used in gyms and by college and Olympic rowing teams. With regular minimal maintenance, they will last 20+ years. Concept2 also sells pretty much ever part of the rower, so if anything breaks, you can just buy the replacement part.
