  Looking for a hatchback car that’s not an SUV. We have a rav4 and looking to replace my ‘10 corolla. We have 2 large dogs.

  Just get a Corolla hatchback maybe?

  New Toyota corolla hybrid can it really last 20+ years

  CarMax doesn't have the best prices but I sure to like the Maxcare service plan. Get a 5-year-old car with 50k mi, you can put a 5-year 80,000 mi service plan in it with a $300 deductible for about $3K. After a year the transmission on my 2019 Ford Edge went out. Got a factory rebuilt OEM replacement installed (my shop said it would have been about $10K) for $300. Very simple process, just gave the service plan info to the shop. There are plenty of 3-5 year old cars you can buy that will last 20 years if taken care of. Corolla is one of them.

  My ‘03 Corolla was so fantastic, she was abused by the douchebag who had her before me and then by me because I was 16 when she came into my life. Drove it daily from 18-22 until she sadly threw an engine rod (through the almost brand new starter I had replaced a year earlier) and stranded me on the side of I-71. Mechanic friend said it was literally the only thing that would have killed her at this point.

  Personally I’d go Corolla or maybe a hybrid. It’s the best of both worlds. Something nobody talks about is how insanely expensive replacing those EV battery packs are. Hybrid systems are pricey too. But not nearly as bad as a full EV.

  What's the most expensive item you've bought with the intention of keeping it for life?

  I'm working on my retirement plan so I've been trying to get things that will last me until I die, so I don't have to buy them again when I retire. 1. I've bought 2 all clad pans so far, will get the other 2 I need next year. No more non stick for me. 2. In 2017 I bought a 2014 Corolla. I only drive it about 4,000 miles a year, so my hope is that with regular maintenance it will out live me. 3. I got a set of libby glasses that, as long as I don't drop them they will last forever. as well as buying commercial plates and cutlery that should outlive me. I'm sure there are a few other things I'm not remembering right now, but If anyone has any ideas for other stuff that I will need I am open to them. :)
