i'm in mid30s now, F, slim. merino wool tops from Smartwool (casual), COS (fancy). couple pairs jeans from COS, citizens. collared silk blouses from Equipment or Vince secondhand. cotton t-shirts / jogger pants. then a clothing rental service like Nuuly for a couple of bold pieces -- sweater, coat, interesting dress -- to pair with those things for the month

Why is it so hard to find well-made clothes that aren't insanely priced?
I mostly buy vintage but I get my basics from COS, which is quite alright in terms of quality. I wore one of their white t-shirts for nearly five years.

What are some European BIFL items (mainly clothing)
Clothing-wise. Sissyboy for boho-cute tops. H&M has several offshoots that are higher quality. I used to always get work clothes at COS. They had stuff you couldn’t find in the states and if you choose wisely, will never, ever go out of style. I have work clothes I still wear that are unique and I will wear forever. Now COS is available in US so the thrill is gone, but there’s another shop called ARKET that is similar quality/price point targeted to adult consumer but a little more casual than COS. Not available in US. I always check it out. They also have nice-smelling lotions.
