  I find that Crest Procare Advanced has worked well for my sensitive teeth. Better even than some sensitive teeth brands. It’s not expensive than regular toothpaste and less expensive than Sensodyne. Costco sells it now too which is very exciting.

  Crest used to make a Nighttime toothpaste that wasn't as foamy, when they stopped making it, I bought several tubes on Amazon before the price got too crazy. Now I used a sensidyne that is similar, but I miss the crest nighttime.

  The ismile kit on Amazon! I was in the hospital with a relative for 5 days and my husband came and picked me up and I said “oh my gosh your teeth look so white!” And he said oh thanks I used a kit I ordered on Amazon and then I ended up buying it and using it and people noticed and asked if I got a tan hahah. I have used crest strips(every type) and my teeth are way too sensitive. BUT I will say- 10% - 20% benzocaine works great for the tooth sensitivity for those kinds of strips. I personally buy a “hemmoroid” cream off Amazon hahaha cause it has the high percentage of benzocaine and I just apply that to my teeth for sensitivity when I use crest strips haha. I have repurchased the ismile kit 4 times and can’t stop reaching for it!

  RDH here. Most people think it’s extrinsic - coffee but it’s just that you never had white teeth or you’ve gotten older. The dentin inside teeth darkens with age. Whitening toothpastes do not change the color - they only help with smoking 🚬 stain and that’s another dental issue. You can try crest white strips. Never worked for me, but made my bro in law brilliant white. I prefer the Sheer White just because they stick better and don’t taste gross. Another brand that used to be dds only is opalesance and they’ve got a tray pack that is good

  Told by dentist office to use crest white strips at home, they won’t even recommend doing any in office whitening. If you have deep stains, get a cleaning done and then go into maintenance mode. Best thing you can do is to rinse/water floss after drinking coffee/tea, brush if you can. Some people also have success with using coconut oil for oil pulling. I couldn’t get over then sensation of swishing it around my mouth so it wasn’t for me, but I’d give it a shot if you can too.

  "All whiteners work by removing enamel." i know of no evidence in a peer reviewed scientific journal to support that conclusion. fwiw, if you have extrinsic stains on the outside of your teeth, you need to go to a dental office. if its intrinsic darkening in your teeth, something like Crest White Strips is decent.

  I used to slack on my dental care and lowkey still do (I miss mornings and nights relatively often) but I get compliments on how white my teeth are now. Crest strips and toothpaste definitely help. I swear they even improved my gum health/periodontal disease. I use regular listerine mouth wash, crest strips occasionally (and I didn’t always use the light thing), any fluoride whitening toothpaste (crest at first, now sensodyne) and an electric toothbrush. I do avoid carbs and juice. And I do not rinse my toothpaste out after I brush.

  Dentist here as well. Use a baking soda based tooth paste once every couple days to remove dark stains from wine or coffee. Whitening won’t get rid of stains but will lighten a tooth’s overall color from yellow to white. Crest white strips or opalescence to go both do a great job taking a darker yellow colored tooth to a lighter shade.

  I generally don’t have sensitive teeth so I can handle stronger formulas but I also practice regular maintenance so I don’t allow my teeth to get non-white. Presently, I am using crest whitestrips for maintenance. The stripes don’t get well into crevices however. So when I notice I need something a little stronger, to zap me back to pearly white, I purchase 35% carbamide peroxide online. However, I can’t use for too long bc this is incredibly strong and prolonged use will make my teeth sensitive which then I use Plus white for maintenance for a while thereafter until I go back to the crest strips. Last year, I had FSA money to use at the end of the year and purchased syringes from my dentist for $40 a pop (purchased 5 of them) and it was nowhere near as effective as what I buy otc. Also, I’ve tried whitening pens and the mouth light systems and they are a waste, don’t even bother.

  Dentist here. Depends on degree of staining. Make sure you have had a professional cleaning or maintenance in the last 6 months. Additionally this is not really a buy it for life situation. If you keep chewing espresso beans and gargling with Merlot you will see limited results, if any. A likely starting point is Crest Whitestrips and in particular a sensitivity one. You can try to leave something like Sensodyne on your teeth for 20 minutes before and after. The active ingredient is potassium nitrate (really). Much easier with carrier trays or even clear aligners or retainers. A step up would be Opalescence Go trays which you can get on Amazon, but you will likely experience more sensitivity. If it’s really bad and you really want to change it in a professional setting, talk to your provider.
