  Are there any nonstick pans that do NOT do this?

  There are dollar store nonstick pans and there are Teflon Platinum Pro pans and the lifespan between the two is a huge chasm of longevity. You being ignorant of BIFL nonstick pans does not mean you are right....open your eyes to new information and quit being a know it all.

  Ok so I’m totally lost - a lot of people saying ceramic skillets are a cheap gimmick that won’t last a year, others it is a good alternative to Teflon

  Many things seem to be risky online and that agenda is being pushed by the health influencers just trying to make money, so quit playing their game. 12 people died from lightning in the US in 2024. 0 people died from Teflon cookware use since 1961. And yet the interwebs would have you believe people are dying by the hundreds. These are facts, so if you want a BIFL Teflon skillet, get one with their top of the line coating which is Platinum or Platinum Pro which should assure you of the longest lifespan. There are Teflon Platinum Pro pans that will last longer even if you dishwasher clean them and use metal utensils. Those are BIFL. The L in this sub is not literal people. 0 people know or think a nonstick pan will last 20 years, but there are ones that will outlast the shitbox dollar store kind.

  Teflon has always been safe. 12 people died in the US in 2024 due to lightning. 0 people have died on the planet since 1954 due to Teflon pan use. Are there suck Teflon pans? Yes. Are there BIFL Teflon pans? Also yes. Will a Teflon pan last 100 years. Nope. All coatings fail, but there are coatings worth a damn and coatings not worth a damn and knowing which is which is the key to a BIFL nonstick pan.
