Deodorant and self-cleaning products have become a sponsored hell scape. Fellow men, what do you use?
Degree deodorant. I live in a humid southern state and for the longest time I only used antiperspirant because it was the only thing that wouldn't create a mess. One day, I accidentally bought Degree deodorant. All antiperspirant works, it doesnt matter how much you spend and Degree is one of the cheapest. Anyway, Degree deodorant has done what every other deodorant has failed to do, it keeps me smelling fresh and deodorant smelling sweat doesnt cover my shirt. As far as soap goes I would recommend tea tree oil soap or persimmon soap. If you want a body wash, same thing. If youre really physical or sweat a lot these soaps will give you confidence. Brand isnt that important for soap but body wash is a consistent hit or miss scenario in regards to how well it will lather. If you want a special occasion soap or one thats therapeutic for a man then invest in 18.21 body wash. Had a rough day? A shower with some 18.21 will help you relax. Their scents are masculine and great. The lather is second to none.

Degree ultra clear is great. No scent. No staining my shirts anymore. But you got to get over the aluminum hang up.

Here to second the Degree UltraClear B&W. One of the few products I stockpile.

If you don’t want to stink, the aluminum (which helps stop the sweat) is pretty much mandatory. Bacteria like to munch on sweat and leave their stinky waste products behind, which causes you to stink. And because we are human, we are absolutely crawling with bacteria, even when perfectly clean. I know the aluminum free deodorant companies talk a big game. But the wearers of this stuff reek an hour or two into the day. They just don’t notice. The rest of us DO notice though. I’ve had good luck with Degree Ultraclear. Works well, lasts a long time (turns out the marketing talk about this stuff wasn’t full on BS; I was surprised to learn they actually studied how to make their deodorant better) and doesn’t usually discolor your laundry.

First off, I don’t think there’s such a thing as BIFL antiperspirant. That being said, my recent go-to is Degree Black & White. Ot probably contains aluminum though

The Degree aerosol stuff works good for me. I work out and run a lot so I sweat a lot. I prefer the least scented version they make. It’s always worked well for me so I haven’t tried anything else for a long time. I’ve tried their stick kind and it doesn’t work nearly as good. I get a BO deodorant smell. When I put the aerosol stuff on I take a big breath and hold it while I spray then I leave the room. Can’t be good to breathe that stuff in.

Old spice deodorant around the house, Degree UltraClear for when I go out. Both I buy from BJs wholesale when they're on sale with a coupon. Comes out much cheaper in the long run

For soap many of the products out there can't actually be called soap instead they are body wash or beauty bars. I really like Stirling Soap's bar soap and shampoo bars. By far the best thing I've ever used. The scents are solid but I really like how simple the ingredient lists are. For deodorant I like Degree Ultraclear

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of a single "antiperspirant" deodorant without aluminum that actually...works as an antiperspirant. Bars that use baking soda or other starches only work until the material is fully saturated...which is pretty quickly in my experience. It might work for someone with very light perspiration, but definitely not for your average person doing any sort of manual labor. As far as I know, every company claiming to make an aluminum free, starch/baking soda free antiperspirant/deodorant has either stopped manufacture, or stopped their antiperspirant claims. Companies like HyperDri advertise their antiperspirants in this space, but are not actually a deodorant, rather they are basically OTC glycopyrrolate and is administered as a topical medication. Companies like Harry's and Lume *market* their deodorant as being aluminum free...but as soon as you look at their antiperspirant products...they are full of aluminum. If you are willing to set aside the Aluminum requirement, Degree UltraClear Black + White is by far the best deodorant/antiperspirant I've ever used.
