What’s one thing you bought once and it’s still going strong years later?
Piece of crap cheap $36 temporary vacuum. Dirt Devil bagless upright. I got it to hold me until it died and by then I’d have saved up the money for a Dyson, which was a good vacuum cleaner 12 years ago. 12 years later and that stupid Dirt Devil works like new. Now I’ve got a Miele on my wish list. All I’ve ever had to do was occasionally get a wad of cat hair out of the entrance to the hose. Frustrating.

What did you buy not realizing you bought it for life?
Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner. Upright, bagless. $36 at Home Depot. Something to use until I could afford a Miele dog and cat. Bought it in 2010. Just temporary, when it stops working I get my nice bifl vacuum. It won’t stop working. Occasionally, the hose gets clogged with cat hair - we have a Balinese - but it keeps working like new. It’s a little frustrating, to be honest. I want my Miele but I have no excuse.
