Here's another suggestion - get a rotary tool and grind the dog's nails so they're not sharp. They will damage things at a lower rate if they're dull. On a dog that's eating modern formulated nutritious diets, nails grow fast. My dogs get ground twice a week, you can tell when they're due again when their nails click on the hardwood floors. Any quality corded rotary tool (like a Dremel) so you're not at the mercy of how long the battery lasts should be BIFL.

Which tool brand ecosystem would you invest in for 2025 and why for the occasionally frugal DIYer?
I’m all over the place with my tools. Milwaukee M18 line: drill, driver, impact wrench, angle grinder, circular saw, hackzall. Porter Cable 12” miter saw Dremel rotary tool Ridgid oscillating saw Bosch jig saw and 12v interchangeable head driver I like the battery operated Milwaukee tools for things I use a little more often. I’m a fan of corded tools for things that only may get used a couple of times per year.
