Men’s pouch underwear that survives gym + running + hiking?
Wow absolutely shocked I haven't seen this yet, but Duluth Trading Buck Naked boxer briefs are the closest to BIFL I've found for underwear. I have about ten sets, with the oldest being about 7 years old and still going strong with no visible tears or loss in elasticity.

Affordable BIFL womens clothing?
I've been impressed with L L Bean's jeans. I usually wear holes in the crotch (thick thighs!) of jeans within a year. My current pairs are 2-3 years old and still going strong! I also really like Duluth Trading's flannel shirts. I've had some of mine for ten years and they still look new. And as odd as it sounds, the sweatshirts and sweatpants I've gotten from Costco (variety of brands) have all been great. I got three pairs of sweatpants that I wear as pajamas about 10 years ago and they're just starting to show signs of wear

What winter gear do you recommend?
1) Duluth Trading base layers- Stuff wears like iron. Keeping your skin dry keeps you much warmer. Merino wool base layers are great, but most are lucky to make it past a season. 2) Darn Tough Socks. I still have work socks pushing 10 years now. 3) Good scarf- Even a crappy one will keep you substantially warmer than without it. Buy a decent merino, cashmere, or silk scarf. Jackets are a minefield. It's a game you have to play between breathability and wind/water resistance...along with not getting a heat stroke when going indoors. You'll figurer out what works for you. In general, I have my heavy wool coat for most days. Then my waxed canvas for the winder/rainy/snowy days. Then the crazy warm coat which really is only worn 2-3 weeks a year. Boots- In general a good leather boot and a good sock will get you through everything but the coldest temps.

I'd say it's good quality but idk about BIFL. I have a pair of the Duluth Flex khakis pants going on like 2 years and still looking great, but my favorite thing I've gotten there is my full grain bison leather belt. Just holds up better than any other belt I've owned. Agree with others that they have sales constantly so never buy full price.

Seconding Dickies 874s, those things are tanks. I've put mine through hell and they just keep going For jeans tho you might wanna check out some workwear brands like Duluth Trading or even Wrangler Riggs if you can find em. Way better construction than department store stuff

I have had really good luck with Duluth trading co underwear. Specifically the dang soft boxer briefs. They do wear eventually, but I feel they last a lot longer than the hanes / fotl boxer briefs I used to get. They are quite expensive though, so I only ever buy during big sales.

Duluth trading. I love my armacillo. I buy them end of season on sale. The funky patterns are less expensive, because they didn’t sell. Don’t overheat the waistband in the dryer and they hold up better.

I tried a bunch of different Duluth Trading Boxers and the ones I liked the most were called Eco Cheeks and unfortunately they were discontinued. I bought 15 pairs and they are a few years old now, and show no signs of wear. I occasionally try and wear the other Duluth ones I bought and they just aren't nearly as comfortable, especially later in the day.

Lmao when I was a trail builder in the backcountry I didn’t know a single person with (or wanted) $400 sweaters or shirts for our work. Technical jackets, sure. Absolutely not for mid layers. My very much marketed towards manual work and outdoorspeople work pants weren’t even close to $400 and were still durable af (thx Duluth Trading) If you mean marketed as in intended vs actual audience, sure fair enough, that’s why there’s all those memes about people doing ‘carhartt shit’ at brunch

Why does everyone say Duluth Trading makes the best underwear?
It's a bit silly to say...it's because they last. It's just like Darn Tough socks. I still have several pairs I wear one to two times a week for 5 years and show zero signs of wear. I deep squat a lot and walk all day at work, so crotch blowouts happen...with everything except this. Of course 30-50 bucks for a pair of underwear is eye watering...until you realize something you wear daily literally outlast presidential terms.

Depending on the shirt’s intended use, I buy my partner either Hanes Beefy or Comfort for his basic T-shirts. I can’t speak for designer or store brands that may be $35-50. He’s very tall and wears an XLT. I’ve recently purchased him a batch of t-shirts and various types of pants and jeans from Duluth Trading. They all feel like they’ll hold up over time.

I think that thickness is important. The cheap shirts you get for five in a pack that you can hold up to the Sun and see through, are not necessarily going to last long. But good thick shirts like Duluth Trading and Carhartt will generally last a long while.

I'm looking for light, quick dry pants that won't fall apart after 3 uses

I'm tall and thin so I went with the Slim Fit, 36 Longs in the Tarmac color. I've been really, really happy with them. Five weeks in and, so far, they are holding up great. *Extremely* quick drying, as advertised. Very comfortable to wear outside in \~100°F heat for \~6 hours. It's only been 5 weeks, but I've put them through their paces and so far they have been excellent.

That’s sad to hear. I shop Duluth Trading frequently. I’ve had to return a few items over the years. I’ve never had an issue. Their lifetime leather produces are fantastic! I love the Armachillo skorts. The shelf bra long tail shirts. I still think their quality is superior to many other brands out there.

Best men’s underwear for hot weather? Looking for breathable, supportive, anti-chafe, and organic
ExOfficio made a boxer brief out of mostly nylon that was intended for travel starting 30 or 40 years ago. It does everything except be organic that you want, but everything you want a natural fabric cannot do. Their quality has fallen but luckily their design has been copied by many companies at this point. The one that's still high quality and easiest to find is made by Duluth trading, and they have several versions of it under different names now. I had fourteen pairs of ExOfficio that I wore for any eight years before the elastic on the band started giving up. I now have 14 pairs of Duluth underwear that will likely last for a similar amount of time. They're expensive but because they last as long as they do they're worth it.

Cold weather gear that's quality, and not just a name brand buy?
I bought a mid sized down jacket from Columbia on sale for $80 2 weeks before a REAL winter storm here in Montana and i was very surprised. I didn't get this for extreme cold but thought I'd try it out in a -45 degree blizzard. i had to shovel 18" of snow in very high winds and much to my surprise not the slightest bit of cold air got through that jacket. this midsized jacket is now my go to for extreme winter weather. $80 not $400 like some insane brands out there. I like Duluth trading base layers with a long sleeve polyester shirt and the jacket. all i needed for this weather.

Duluth also has a crazy good return policy if you don't like something. I had a pair of their 5-pocket firehose pants for like, a year before returning them. There was nothing wrong with them, I just didn't like that the color refused to fade and they always looked like a brand new work uniform no matter how hard I beat on them. No questions asked at all. Not even a receipt.

I like Duluth Trading’s Flexpedition pants for work. They’re not too loose, have some stretch, and hold up well. For long-sleeve shirts, I’ve had good luck with the Carhartt Force line. They fit well without being baggy, and the material is breathable but still durable.
