  What are the Best Glass Food Storage Containers Available Now? Recommendation

  I got two ello packs myself to total 10 containers. I love having everything the same size so I don't have to worry about hunting out to match lids. I only have one super sized glass container. (And although no one asked, metal ones for on the go containers. They are light, easily washable, stuff tastes good. Unlike plastic)

  With a new style of water bottle popping up every year, Which one have you stuck with?

  I have a plastic contigo that I absolutely love and have had for a very long time. Pre covid for sure. I just bought a new one from ello because of its style. It has a wide opening that you pop open if you want to put ice and a straw like opening to drink from if you like. Let’s see how I like it going forward.

  With a new style of water bottle popping up every year, Which one have you stuck with?

  I have an Ello water bottle that is stainless steel, and before that I had a glass Ello water bottle (only retired because the silicone seal on the lid got mold). Its dishwasher safe, durable, and comes apart easily. Plus it has a nice little handle on a hinge so it can swing, and a locking top that makes it spill-proof. Honest to god I bring this thing everywhere with me!

  Been considering a titanium canteen for some time, but the most consistent one I use at present is a glass Ello bottle. Silicon wrap for grip/protection, and generally holds up well. The elastic band for popping the lid has started to wear, but the lid’s easy enough to unscrew rather than pop. Definitely recommend, but would not bring with on the trail if you are a hiker or cyclist.

  Yep. Lifefactory and the Ello Syndicate and Clara glass water bottles. Can confirm they fit in Subaru cup holders and we dishwash ours with no problems.

  BIFL Communist Tupperware

  Ive had tupperware, rubbermaid, anchor. All have had issues with the lids. I switched to ello (glass containers with snap lids) and I will never go back!! Highly highly recommend cannot recommend enough.   Water bottle that keeps water cold?

  Ello double walled Stanley cup knock off. I put two scoops ice and water and can leave it out and 24 hours later there is still ice. I just refill the water. Also I am on my second one only because the other one got run over by a commercial vehicle. First one lasted 4 years and looked brand new still.

  Anyone have good experiences with glass travel mugs?

  I owned a fellow carter and it was the absolute worst mug I've ever used for changing good coffee into dreck in the fastest amount of time. I have no idea why - I washed it, cleaned the seal, etc. But put a well made delicious pourover into that mug and in 30 minutes it was utterly VILE. So no, I do not recommend the Carter to anyone. This Smash travel mug still has a triton plastic lid unfortunately, and costs $25-27. My favorite travel mug is the ceramic Ello Ogden. It costs $12 at walmart, and comes in an attractive black, with a silicone sleeve. If I break it, it's not too expensive to replace. And the best part is that it does not change the flavor of my coffee at all. Yes, the coffee does cool down fairly fast. I don't have it to savor coffee for hours, I use it when I want to drink my coffee on the go.

  Looking for Tupperware alternatives

  I’m debating between the Ello brand and Rubbermaid brilliance glass food storage containers right now. I have both, but I think I prefer the ello for the silicone on them (easier to hold when warmed up and not as loud when stacking, moving around). They do both have plastic lids, though they don’t really ever touch the food so I am not too worried. Both stack nicely in a cupboard as well Everything not “meal sized” goes in mason jars or recycled glass jars, Pyrex with silicone lids, or aluminum tins for items that will not need reheated. We also have some silicone bags, but they are more annoying to clean and they seem to not hold their ability to click together very long (maybe I am just buying the wrong kind idk)

  Best water bottle to take everywhere? One that can last very very long?

  I absolutely needed a combo "sip & chug" water bottle that was also fully sealed, which restricted my choices greatly. Owala was a contender for me for a while... But I discovered Ello was more my speed (silicone straw tip & not having to unscrew the lid to fill it FTW!).

  Looking for a lunch container that I can take straight from the fridge and into a microwave that's also not plastic.

  You can microwave cold glass containers. I have the ello ones bought at target and then come with a silicone cover around the bottom to reduce breaking risk
