Lingerie that lasts?
I don’t think panties can (or should) be BIFL. Maybe keep the nice stuff for when it’s going to have an audience but don’t wear it for every day, especially under rough clothing like jeans. I bet rubbing against your clothes is doing more damage than you realize. Can you find cute, comfy undies that coordinate with your favorite bras so you still feel put together but aren’t putting so many miles on the fancy stuff? Bras, on the other hand, last much longer when you’re wearing the correct size. If you’re a frequent underwire snapper, you’re not wearing the right size. Definitely check out the bra fitting sub others have mentioned. I wear almost exclusively Elomi bras, and if I didn’t need different sizes over time, I think they might last close to forever with the right care. I’m going on five years with my daily drivers. Even so, elastic stretches out. And feminine undergarments are very hard to find without elastic of some form.

What are some items under $500 you’ve made so far that changed your life?
So much of it is having a real fitting: I was wearing the right band size but the cup size was four too small. The properly fitted one has one “arm” of the U shape of the cup under my arm, almost to the far side of where my armpit ends (but lower, of course). That’s where the “root” of the breast starts (for me - everyone is a little different). The other thing I found out was that there are bras made by literal structural engineers - who are women. The one I have is the “EB Core” bra by Evelyn and Bobbie. The other expensive one I have is from Elomi. But really, different-shaped breasts require different kinds of bras. I never had any luck with r/abrathatfits - no matter what I did, the measurements I got didn’t work; it was a lot of wasted time and money for me personally - but thousands of Redditors have used their system very successfully. I’m sure it’s just because I’m a goofball and am doing something wrong. They’re very friendly over there, too.
