What’s a small upgrade you made that ended up being way more impactful than expected?
My work has a rewards program where you earn points. You can use the points to get something from a catalog provided by the company. I earn enough to get something once or twice a year. I got myself a smart coffee mug with a warmer by Ember. I thought it was a fun thing, more or less a novelty item. It comes with an app so you can program it for your preferred temperature. I didn’t expect to enjoy it so much.

Best Quality of life gift ideas under $150
If you like hot coffee or tea I’d highly recommend and ember mug. I bought one for my wife a couple of years ago and initially she scoffed at the idea of a $100 coffee mug, and insisted I return it. I told her we have 30 days and just try it out. We each have our own now and we’ve bought countless for gifts for friends and family.

What's a purchase under $50 that has genuinely improved your daily routine?
Although a bit higher than $50 when I bought my first one I covet my Ember coffee mugs. I set mine to maintain the temperature of my cappuccino at 138F and it keeps it there from first sip to last. My wife loves her as well. What a way to start the morning.

Ever Bought Something That Quietly Changed You?
Coworker bought me an Ember mug bc I kept making more coffee when mine went cold. I now sip one cup for 4 hours instead of 3-4 cups. They last about 2 years before they start to bubble the paint so not biffle, but for me it is keep buying for life. At least until I find a better brand. I’ve tried several. The plate type heaters don’t work bc I’m walking around a lot, and set it down to recharge every 45 min or so.

What are some items under $500 you’ve made so far that changed your life?
My ember mug. I’ve had it 4 years now, I know it will likely give out soon but not reheating coffee this whole time has been worth the $69 I paid for it on sale at Costco.

Anyone have good experiences with glass travel mugs?
Having had a Yeti for several years now, I have to wait a solid 30-40 minutes between when I brew my coffee and when I drink it at work. I will then usually now transfer it to my Ember mug at work to keep it at my preferred drinking temp and not have to worry about it getting too cold. I'd never have bought the Ember for myself, but I am now a believer in the merits of consistent coffee temperature over the course of the day.

Thoughts on Ember Mug?
I used a 10oz EM for over a year but upgraded to the EM2 14oz. My old mugs battery still works much batter than my new one. I even have the proper 35 dollar lid for the newer one.
