Looking for bar stools
If you’re willing to go in the opposite direction, Emeco Navy is light-weight and classic. They’re like $1200 new but around me there are many slightly used on Facebook Marketplace within your price range.

(Request) BIFL Furniture stores?
We're in ATL and have picked up a few pieces from our local store. Emeco's Navy Chair defines BIFL in my opinion. I don't see our Womb Chair & Ottoman, Platner Side Table, Eames Molded Fiberglass Side Chair, or other pieces falling apart in our lifetime. Or going out of style. Much of the rest of our furniture is mid-century stuff that's older than us and was purchased used. Some needed to be recovered, but it's otherwise going strong. Stuff from then and contemporary Knoll & Herman Miller is built to last. Materials and assembly are solid.

Price doesn't matter—check out [Design Within Reach](http://www.dwr.com/). Stuff like the Emeco Navy chair will outlast your grand children. Knoll and Herman Miller also build bombproof stuff.
