I never want to buy cookware again
Back in the early 2000’s, I bought Emeril all clad 12 inch sauté pan and it’s held up real well. I don’t think the newer stuff that is celebrity branded is as good

BIFL cookware set? Hexclad, stainless steel, ceramic or what?
Cuisinart also makes pans with a disk bottom and not fully clad. You could have one of those, which are also just fine pans, if not as good as a fully clad one. Or Cuisinart could have upped their game and made a fully clad pan that is fully encapsulated. My parents had an Emeril branded set like that some years back. Meanwhile the thickness and number of layers in the cladding can improve performance. I can't say for sure the pan you have is "better", but I would be willing to bet it's a very good pan even if it's a disk type, and likely a much better 'value'.

What's the most expensive item you've bought with the intention of keeping it for life?
Bought a whole set of Emeril ware stainless steel high quality riveted pot and pan set back in the early 2000’s. Solid quality. It was like $450 or something. Still looking brand new today. This is before Emeril sold out and became a poster boy on QVC selling toasters.

Stainless steel cookware recommendations?
I’ve had a full set of “Emeril” clad stainless pots and pans for 15 years. I cook a ton and it’s all basically like new. And I put it in the dishwasher all the time.
