I'm looking for a cookware and tableware set that will actually last.
Just bought my wife an Emile Henry pie dish for Christmas. Can't wait to see what it looks like in person. Wanted to get a lasagna pan as well but they were sold out for the holidays.

Fissler Pure Collection Review
No - Demeyere pans are made in Belgium. Fissler are made in Germany. Demeyere is also heavy and thick. Like the Pure the handles are also welded making it easier to hold. Basically - people complain most about All-Clad handles. You won’t until you hold a superior handle then you say “yep, I get it”. The top tier for both brands have thick bases & are workhorses whilst the thinner bases heat up more quickly. The pure collection used more recycled metal (for folks concerned w sustainability) & updated the look, made the handles easier & more comfy to use & are considerably lighter than the original ones. Tramontina - made in Brazil or china & folks say quality changes depending on where Other notable pans are Hestan - made in Italy. All-Clad made In USA - unless you have the copper or the cheaper 3 clad you have to wait the same to watch it heat up. The quality is about the same but the loyalty is that people like what they like. Most folks use a mix of every thing. You’ll find All Clad or Viking on sale here more. Miser made in Shanghai Heritage - USA Made-In - various & some folks say the quality depends on which factories it’s made in (USA, Italy, France) Emile Henry - made in France Cast Iron: LE Creuset - France (except for their stoneware - made in china) Staub - France (except stone ware) Lodge - USA

I agree w/ other re: All Clad, Emile Henry, and Le Creuset or Staub. Sometimes the other brands of enameled cookware are really good too. I know my dad has a dutch oven from Mario Batali that has to be about 20 years old or so, and it's still going strong, it gets used at least three times per month and it still looks great. Plates and bowls with lids will be harder. The best stuff is my mom's old corning ware. Corning Ware still makes sets with lids -- look for some of those or look at estate sales for the old corning ware. Lots of that is still in existence. Look for vintage pyrex sets too -- a lot of those came with lids. Fiesta has some casserole dishes with matching lids that are nice. Depending on where you are located, start looking up estate sales and even small independently owned thrift stores where you can ask staff about items that you want. Develop a relationship with the managers and ask them to call you when they get new items coming in.

You could go enamel cast iron like staub or le creuset There's also ceramic like Emile Henry which has stovetop compatible dishes which might be what you're looking for

Emile Henry Deep Storage Bowl
Still really enjoying this smaller version! So far, haven't found myself running out of room at the top or bottom that has made me think I wish I had the bigger version.

Le creuset oven dish failure
This happened to me twice with Le Creuset stoneware. I did not have any drastic temperature changes either. I switched to Emile Henry and have had no issues. Sophie Conran for Portmeirion has also lasted well.

Emile Henry pie di$h
I've had one an EH baking/casserole dish for about 10 years. It's great. Wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from them.

Europeans, what cookware brands do you use?
Le Creuset is great for enameled cast iron, but their ceramics are made in china crap with an inflated price tag for having the LC name. Emile Henry is still made in France, about the same price point, and much better quality.
