My Escali is okay, but I bought a couple of $20 fractional gram scales from house of bezos that I prefer for measurements where precision matters. An advantage I have is that I own 100g and 500g reference weights and Escali's are within 2 grams, which is fine for most things - but less precise than I want for brewing coffee or baking.

Love my Escali. Not super compact but handles kitchen life well. The only reason I replaced the first one is because some dummy* dropped it in a sink full of water. Second Escali going strong. *Hi. It’s me. I’m the dummy.

I bought an Escali in the 2000s and it died about 18 years later with maybe 4 battery changes within its lifetime. What did I replace it with? Another Escali. The main reason I bought it is because it has a weighing platform while other scales use the feet to weigh and the body is the platform. In my kitchen crumbs would get stuck in the feet giving me a bad reading so I could never trust them.
