  Looking for a BIFL purse in a specific style

  Custom: Try Etsy and look at designers that hand make their items. I have ordered 3 purses/wristlets that I had made to my specifications. The tricky thing with your picture is the hardware, I have found this is the area where a lot of Etsy sellers do not have the right connections for top notch hardware so pay attention to their other offerings. Buying gently used: I have had good luck with both Fashionphile and The Real Real, pay attention to their condition rating

  Buy alpaca blanket without selling a kidney to afford it?

  First of all, Alpaca wool is expensive, but I would search Etsy for some decent alpaca blend blankets from sellers in Peru/Ecuador, and a lot of them ship from the US so you’re not waiting a month($80–150 range depending on size). Check also tj maxx/marshalls/homegoods (if you’ve got any near you). It’s hit or miss, but my friend seen queen-ish sizes under $100. But if you’re cool with more of a throw than a full queen, there’s a bunch in the $50–90 range on Amazon that are labelled “alpaca blend” (though you gotta read the fine print ’cause sometimes it’s like… 10% alpaca and 90% mystery fluff). Not luxury heirloom quality maybe, but definitely warmer than nothing

  Best anniversary gifts that actually last

  I gave my wife a custom leather camera bag with her initials on it. Etsy is solid for this sort of thing, even if it’s not really some person handcrafting it all you can get a solid quality custom item without spending too much. The bag was $80 and came from some place in India, I’m sure essentially a factory.

  My husband got a tungsten ring off Etsy, and to make it a but more special we got one with wood inlaid on the inside of the ring. Has held up great for 3 years so far, no signs of wear!

  I got myself a nice titanium band from Etsy. It’s a comfort fit ring and was only like $70. It’s very comfortable and lightweight and cheap enough that I won’t be devastated if I ever lost it, but still looks very classy

  We got our rings from Etsy. Alexandrite and moissanite engagement rings, lab diamond eternity wedding bands (we’re two women). My wife is allergic to gold so we had to go platinum for both her rings, which is more expensive. I went 14k rose gold and 18k gold for mine. For all four rings I think we spent around $2500. Very affordable, and they’re beautiful and well made, will definitely last.

  Home Goods : Citizenry, Lulu & Georgia among many, many others  Clothing: Etsy surprisingly has a lot of hand-made, high quality unique pieces, especially if you're looking for a specific style. Same for accessories, but those can be found at any local store.

  Where do people sell their stuff online nowadays?

  I’m mid 30s F and I get so much of my clothing from ebay, depop, etsy, and poshmark. I’ve not had luck on thredup or mercari really. Vestiaire for higher end pieces. Noihsaf is also a fun one!

  should we spend $800 on a wood standing desk surface?

  I bought a couple of butcher block countertops from Lowes for about $300 each. Then I cut them down to size, sanded, and stained them. Bought some legs from Etsy for about $50 each and drawers from IKEA for \~$100. So about $1050 for the two desks. You can replace the drawers and legs with standing legs. You'll need to either buy, rent, or borrow a circular saw and sander.

  Cotton, Linen, Wool clothing recommendations?

  If you haven't, check the GoodOnYou directory. Etsy also has a lot of linen, though it's hard to determine quality sometimes.
