  Anyone using a countertop ice maker that's actually good?

  I also have a Euhomy. I’ve had it for about 5 years. I use RO water in it and only run it on the weekend to make ice for the week. I have one that lets me choose the large or small bullet ice. It cost $65 when I bought it. I was spending $5 a week on bagged ice, so I’ve long since got my money’s worth. It’ll fill the basket in about a hour and that is about 1/2 of a gallon ziplock bag. I freeze it in bags and then break it up to fill up the ice dispenser in my freezer. Our well water is full of iron and I have never hooked up the ice maker/water dispenser in the fridge. I keep it in my pantry so I don’t really hear it except when it drops the ice.

  I have an euhomy ice maker, not the crescent one. but it’s been pretty solid overall. I usually run it once or twice a week, and it cranks out enough ice for daily drinks or to stock a freezer bag. Not super loud, but you can hear the ice drop. Doesn’t bother me though. I’d say it’s worth it. Makes life a lot easier when you’re making drinks regularly.

  Yeah exactly, if it’s hard to clean it’s useless. I’ve seen good feedback on EUHOMY nugget ice maker for being reliable and low-maintenance. Best feature — it produces nugget ice in under 10 minutes, and it’s portable with an ergonomic handle.

  What is the best ice maker machine to buy?

  If you're mainly after daily use and don't care about fancy features the euhomy nugget ice maker is a solid pick. But the Opal just feels a bit more reliable long term. The silonn is fine too, but it's more of a budget portable ice maker for light use.

  What purchase changed your habit?

  I got a Euhomy because the reviews for the unit itself was about the same as all the other brands, but the customer service reviews were really good. I actually ended up having to use that customer service because I had a problem with mine after just a couple of months. They asked if they could send me a new water pump and have me replace it. I was like no way, and to be honest, I was a little freaked out that they even asked that. But they said no problem, and sent me a new unit, and it's been great for a year and a half or two years now. I'm very happy with it and with their customer service. I will say that if you have hard water, you will want to use distilled water in your ice machine, no matter what brand you go with. FWIW, I've read that the nugget ice makers they sell at Costco (can't recall which brand that is) are frequently returned.

  Any countertop ice maker that doesn’t turn moldy or break after a year?

  I’ve been using the euhomy nugget ice one for almost a year now and honestly it’s held up way better than I expected. I use it pretty much every day for iced tea and water. Still running fine, no weird sounds or issues so far. The self-cleaning button actually helps a lot. I still wipe it down every now and then, but I don’t have to deep clean it constantly like my last one. That one got gross so fast even though I followed all the cleaning steps. It’s not totally silent but way quieter than the first machine I had. If you're using it in a kitchen or home office, you probably won’t even notice after a while. Definitely worth checking out if you’re tired of machines crapping out after a year.
