Obviously repairability is a huge factor if something is even enduring 10-20 years so consider this: https://www.ifixit.com/repairability/wireless-earbud-repairability-scores Personally I have the Jabras now. I‘m happy with them for the past 3 years, but they are ok-ish middle class headphones. In the future I guess I would go for the Sonys for sound quality reasons or the Fairphone ones for bifl reasons.

I would recommend investing in something like the fairphone which has a longer lifespan and you can replace or upgrade parts intentionally! I don’t have one because I didn’t know it existed when I got my iPhone a few years ago LOL

This is exactly why I went with fairphone and framework. They are both build to last and be repaired, framework even to be upgraded I also use Linux, so the age of a device matters way less

If you are after BIFL Fairphone Fairbuds are one of the only repairable kinds. You can get nearly all the parts, including new batteries for the case and buds. The fairphone is the closest right now. Modular parts, easy to replace stuff yourself, no glue, 8 years of updates promised and because the OS is open source, community updates are there too, though parts will be harder to find after about a decade. They even have a rewards system for the longer you keep your fairphone.

I've been pleased with the FairPhone after my last Pixel shat itself. I've had it long enough that I'm 2 models behind. Replaced the battery once, the charging port once. The latter was covered by warranty. It was totally worth my buying it outright and not being slaved to one carrier. Moving countries was as easy as swapping out SIMs. The specs may not be top flight but it also hasn't had the creeping enshittification my "higher-end" phones did.

I'm surprised by your pixel experience, I'm on a 7pro and it's one of the few phones I've ever had that still works like day one after a lot of use. Fairphone have a lot of serviceable parts, plus 5 year guarantee and 8 years software support, but their specs are definitely not flagship level IMO so there is a trade-off there. If you want flagship hardware I'd go something like Galaxy S24FE. Security updates until October 2031, and the fan editions are the handsets Samsung make with all the hardware and firmware kinks worked out.

VERY poorly made modular phone concept for longevity (by me)
I think a well repairable phone like Fairphone is as far as we can go without too many drawbacks. Bulky design is not really the issue but power and performance inefficiencies.

Im typing this from mg s20+ 5g. My nr. 1 advice to you is: set modes and routines to turn of fast en superfast charge, at least at night. Mine still works fine but nattery is utterly shit though. I'm awaiting the fairphone 6 release on 25th of june and decided whether to buy that or replace battery I also recommend to use a good phonecase, screenprotector and prepare to have battery replaced at one point. Its now 25€ if i do it myself vs 90€ if i let someone do it.

There is exactly one model of TWS earbuds on the market with properly replaceable batteries, the Fairphone Fairbuds. And the sound quality on them frankly sucks imo. If you want earbuds that are durable, wireless, AND sound good your only option is to get normal wired buds with a pair of bluetooth adapters like the FiiO UTWS5. But be warned, they will be heavier and a LOT more clunky to wear than normal bluetooth earbuds.

Do you buy eco-friendly products?
It is one of the things I evaluate for but not the only one. Sometimes things align (Repairable laptops tend to be better laptops anyway, Merino wool is both a superior material for clothing and way less water intensive than cotton) sometimes they clash (I really wanted a Fairphone but the lack of 3.5mm jack is a deal breaker for me). Pay attention to the fact that price is not a big factor in comparison with other things. I'm more than willing to pay the extra for sustainability, but compromising the use/performance of the product is an issue.

A list of BIFL not made in the USA
I'm following this. For headphones/audio stuff, one of the few categories where tech is BIFL, Sennheiser, Germany is not only BIFL but also way better sound than the alternatives! Meze, Romania are also built like pieces of art and their new models sound like a dream! and Beyerdynamics, Germany are the choice for indestructibility for a reason. For tools, PB Swiss and Knippex, Germany, dominate for a reason. For knives, Victorinox, Switzerland and Opinel, France are not only top notch but also super affordable, and plenty of small French manufacturers if you want something fancier. For clothes, Fjallraven, Sweden deserves the reputation it has, and I'm very happy with my stuff from Seagale, France. If price is an issue, do not understimate the higher end of the Decathlon, France catalogue, it may not be as fancy as the alternatives, but durability is not compromised! For shoes, Carmina in Spain deserves a shootout. Same as Scarpa from Italy for more practical shoes. I know tech is not BIFL but Fairphone, Netherlands makes a repairable phone, and Nokia/HMD, Finland has done some nice repairability upgrades too. Tuxedo, Germany and Slimbook, Spain also sell computers based mostly on Clevo, Taiwan designs that tend to be more repairable and upgradeable than the alternatives.

Best noise canceling headphones?
Best? Sony or Bose. Most repairable? Fairbuds or Fairbuds XL. I've had my Bose QC35 II for 7+ years now, multiple pad changes, still solid as a rock, but I know eventually the battery will degrade and while not impossible, it's not an easy item to swap. Fairphone stuff isn't the best noise cancelling or audio tech on the market, but ease of service is a big bonus to increasing the service life. I have a set of the fairbuds true wireless buds and, unless the company goes out of business, everything is replaceable on a remarkably granular level.

Why did your last one die? If you break hardware parts (the charger port, or the battery were gone f.ex.): Fairphone has replaceable parts, and how to videos on the website so you can replace at home. Did it get too slow? Buy a phone with a ton of RAM and the company promises long software support. All flagship phones of nice brands meet that description, but several recent Motorolas also meet that description, and they're far cheaper. Do you only call and text? Brick phones last three times as long as smartphones do, easily.

Apple. They last until the software goes obsolete. They never really die. As an alternative, you might want to try Fairphone. Every part in there can be replaced essentially extending its life for as long as possible.
