Bombas- have they crashed & burned?
Yeahhhhh I ordered NOVEMBER 18TH... 4 pairs of the suede slippers for gifts. I have received 1 pair. After idk 20 emails. The other 3 are still in processing. Im pissed. I ordered over a week ahead of black friday. I want the slippers so idk what to do but im absolutely mad and I have 3 IOU gifts or have to come up with replacement ideas. Really frustrated. Why advertise items you cant ship? They had me create a different order on dec 3rd to speed things up which a week agter that the 1 pair shipped. Its insane this process. Id like to do a charge back as im sure they wont even notice and may still ship my items lol. However I LOVE FEETURES SOCKS. Bomnas I don't theyre ok.

Bombas Socks have really let me down. Any recommendations welcome!
I’m a fan of Feetures too. Their lifetime warranty is pretty legit. Returned a pair that was at least 15 years old (hadn’t worn them much until recently), and I received credit for a new pair without any fuss.

Another vote for Feetures! I plan on replacing all my socks with Feetures as they wear out.

Feetures are my go to now. I’m not in a cold climate though. I just kept asking for pairs during Christmas and my birthday for a couple of years. Have warm but rarely use them as my feet sweat like crazy. Only do it during winter and near 60s or below. Lifetime warranty that I’ve used before.

My Feetures have literally lasted 10 years. I have Darn Tough and I was lucky to get a year out of them before they developed huge holes. Feetures for the win here!

Feetures or Darn Tough. I have been in the military for like 12 years and I’ve been an avid runner since high school and still do about 20-25 miles a week. I bought about 15-18 pairs of feetures over a span of a decade. First pair 2009 and last purchase in 2015. In 2024 they were incredibly pilled and one was tearing near real pull tab. Feetures gave me a credit for the socks at today market value. Nearly $350 in credit. I literally replaced my entire drawer. I could’ve kept most of the old ones but each one was on the cusp of tearing and I was beginning to have issues with hotspots in my shoes and boots where the socks began to thin.

Bombas Socks have really let me down. Any recommendations welcome!
No socks are BIFL and I got tired of spending $20+ per pair on socks that got holes in them from regular use. I have had the same issues with Bombas. They keep getting holes, I go through their warranty and get replacements, but those keep getting holes too and after ordering enough replacements for socks with holes, Bombas seems to flag your account and makes it a major hassle every time. I’ve tried so many others, smartwool, feetures, darn tough and many many other brands that get recommended on this sub. I honestly dislike my darn tough socks despite everyone’s recommendations on that brand. They slide around on my feet more than the others and just aren’t as comfortable. And of course they eventually get holes. They do seem to go the longest of any of the name brands I’ve tried before getting holes though. Bombas has been my favorite as far as comfort is concerned, but they get holes so easily and quickly that I just can’t keep buying more socks and spending more money. I always go for the merino wool athletic socks and the next time I get holes, they’re out of stock and/or have gone up in price so I still have to shell out more money to get a warranty replacement. I have honestly found that the cheaper socks I’ve gotten that aren’t merino wool last much longer, but many aren’t as comfortable. I’ve tried a bunch on Amazon and found 2 that are close to Bombas in comfort level. There may be more, but I’m a size 14 and have to get xl socks. https://a.co/d/dmqnjiz https://a.co/d/aiNWmf8 They go slightly higher on the ankle than bombas (just slightly), but I haven’t gotten a hole yet, and when I do I’ll feel much better about replacing them at $2 each (regularly on sale). Also they all match whereas the bombas always come in different colored sets so once one sock gets a hole, that pair can’t be worn anymore. I just got tired of paying so much and continuing to have to pay more every time they got a hole (even with the warranty) so I figured I’d look for alternatives. There aren’t any socks that are BIFL, darn tough is the closest I’ve tried, but I don’t find them to be comfortable and I’ve tried a bunch of different models of theirs.

Feetures or Balega. I swear I have some Balega socks that are years old with heavy use that I can’t get to even show wear. Somehow I’ve accumulated too many socks but every time I go to purge them out I think, but these are still in perfect condition.

Darn Toughs are great. I use them for my backpacking trips. For a daily driver/athletic sock, both Feetures and Balega make incredible socks. The Balega Silver series are so incredibly comfortable, you'll wear them around the house non-stop.

Feetures are incredible and are my daily drivers. I also love Balega socks as well. Those two brands replaced my entire collection of non-dress socks.

Glad to see Feetures mentioned. They have a lifetime warranty, but I agree they may not hold up for a lifetime, depending on use. I get the ultra light versions - the ones I use for running are kinda toast after a few years. But the ones I wear day to day are still fine and will probably last 5+ years.

If you are looking for an athletic sock, Feetures is my go to. They won’t last for life but I have pairs that are over 10 years old and still going strong. They aren’t cheap though. About $18/pair.

Have you contacted them about the warranty? If you no longer want to deal with the brand, I found saucony socks to have a similar fit to bombas Darn tough is the brand most people go to for quality and service. My socks from them never had any issues, so I never had to contact them I have plenty of feetures. Their plantar fascitis socks are my favorite for travelling. I had one of their other socks and had an issue with shrinking (this was 1 of my first pairs with them, so it could've been my fault). I contacted them about it and they gave me credit to use for another pair of their socks. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to use the credit yet because their site is pricey. I usually get them on sale from zappos or amazon

Bombas Socks are not BIFL quality
I’m a big fan of darn tough and feetures running socks. I have feetures I have worn and washed weekly for 10+ years.

Bombas Socks are not BIFL quality
It depends a lot on the model of sock, I've found. Everyone in my household is allowed to pick a sock brand and stick with it. My son has Nike, my older daughter had Bombas (now just plain white Nike), my younger daughter has fun kid socks, and my wife has Bombas. The reason my older daughter no longer has Bombas is because they cost an arm and a leg and she was going through them like crazy -- in particular the merino ones. The more standard mostly-cotton socks are far more durable, but the wool ones absolutely aren't, especially if you're using them athletically. I am a runner, too, and have switched from Balega to Feetures a few years ago. I really like the Balega feel, but the elastic around the ankle doesn't last very well. I don't quite like the Feetures feel as much, but they're definitely more durable (in both the normal and merino lines).

For the love of god, where can I buy some ankle socks that don’t get holes in them in a month?
Another big vote for feetures. I freaking love my feetures socks. I’ve had the max cushion performance and elite ankle ones for running for 3 years. I especially love how snug they are and the extra thick lip around the sock so your shoes don’t rub your ankles. I’ve trained on trails and the road and trained for a marathon. They look well loved but still cushioned and snug as if I just opened them. Not sure they will ever die but yes the lifetime warranty is awesome too!

I wear Feetures and Wide Open. Wide Open is the same company as Darn Tough (and have the same lifetime warranty) but they stretch more for bigger legs/ankles. My household doesn’t have particularly big legs but the Darn Toughs are so tight!

Feetures! I love the elite line - I prefer the medium or high cushion thickness. They also have a lifetime haute tee so if you get holes you just email the company any you will replace. I was gifted some Bombas high socks and I think they’re OK but I prefer my feetures.

What’s one item you bought that has lasted for YEARS and was worth every penny?
Feetures running socks. Ran in in them 3/4x per week for 3 years, still same compression and texture. Bought a few extra about 5 years ago just to have a rotation on wash. Run through Quebec winters with salt and sand. All of them still fit like magic. FWIW - I'm light/medium sweater on my feet.
