Field & strem clothes, any thoughts?
Field & Stream is decent for the price, but it’s not really a true *Buy It For Life* brand. Their gear is made mostly for casual outdoor use — fine for light hiking or everyday wear, but not built like Filson or Carhartt. The **Epoch** line uses decent nylon and stitching, but it’s still more of a “good value” than a lifetime jacket. If you just want something affordable that looks nice and holds up for a few years, it’s solid. For true long-term durability, **Carhartt** or **Duluth Trading Co.** are safer bets.

comfortable flannel shirts that fit well?
Thick Eddie Bauers from the late 90s / early 2000s at the thrift store; Vermont Flannel Co; Orvis; Field & Stream. The last two not "fashionable names" but heavy, super durable, & relatively inexpensive.

Flannel shirts that last
I buy the thick Field and Stream flannel shirts and wear them over T-shirts in the spring and fall. I always blow out the left elbow after awhile but pilling hasn't been a problem.
