The REAL best air purifier - I HATE DUST!
My original rabbit air biogs is going strong 16 years later. My biogs 2.0 is 7 years old and going strong. Happy with them both. Every time I clean the pre filters they are full of dust and hair. Also have an entry level blueair, which I don't love because the pre filter is stretchy fabric. It's impossible to change without the fabric springing into a smaller shape when it's removed and dust going everywhere. Honestly the one that removes dust best in my home isn't a hepa filter at all. It's an old filtrete air purifier that is just a fan and a regular flat filtrete filter. More air flow, intake near the floor, picks up so much. That one is also 16ish years old with no issues.

Air Purifier for dust and bird debris?
A few things: 1) A good quality **bagged** vacuum will work wonders for your air quality. If you’re using a bagless vacuum (even if it’s “HEPA”) I can guarantee you it’s flinging dust and debris around the room. 2) That said, depending on your room size, Ace hardware.com and Maxwarehouse.com is having a great sale on some discontinued 3M/Filtrete air purifiers (60% off) IMO there is no better deal right now for a home purifier. They are only discontinued because Filtrete is rolling out new “smart” purifiers and the clearances ones are “dumb” but filter air just the same. Are there any air purifiers that use standard, or commonly-available NON-PROPRIETARY filters? (Not including Corsi-Rosenthal (box fan) purifiers)
For those following this thread, on a search for quiet box fans for this very purpose, I came across https://www.cleanairkits.com/. Basically, Corsi-Rosenthal boxes using PC fans and fittings to friction fit your filters instead of taping, sold as kits. Touted as quiet and aren't complete eyesores either The co-creator of Corsi-Rosenthal boxes linked to this company, and all their kits use standard sized filters (they encourage the use of Filtrete filters).
