What product category has gotten worse in quality, even at the premium level?
Paykel fisher, Bosch, and subzero make excellent, high end, no frills fridges but they seem to be the exceptions (at least that’s what I found when we had to replace our fridge).

If you have a counter-depth refrigerator that has lasted longer than 15 years, what make and model is it?
My fisher and paykel has been strong for the past 8 years, rarely see a fridge built in the 2010’s last longer than 10 years. Now in the 2020’s appliances are lasting up to the warranty and then dies within hours

Bottom Freezer Refrigerators with Water Dispenser/Ice maker?
When I did my researches a few years ago having water go in your fridge was a big no-no as far as reliability goes. But fridges aren't as reliable now as they were in the past. A fridge from the 50s might still work today but your brand new fridge will stop working in about 10 years if all goes well. So what I did was buy the fridge with as few bells and whistles as possible (simplicity helps reliability) from a company known for quality products and reliability (we settled on a F&P fridge, feel free to roast me).

Any good fridge brand recommendations? I live in Australia and my budget is $2000 AUD.
Samsung and LG are solid choices around $2000 AUD. Fisher & Paykel is also worth considering for energy efficiency

Gas range with electric oven
When I moved into the new house it was a Miele. Unfortunately, that one died after about 10 months (electrical surge that wiped out my entire panel). I didn't like the newer Miele so I purchased a Fisher Paykel. I like it just as well. It cooks virtually the same. In fact, the electronic bits on the top are made by the same company that supplies Miele. I wanted a stove with knobs.

The day has come, I need a new fridge.
We have a Fisher & Paykel that came with the house, installed around 2008 or so. We’ve never had any issues.
